I have a ticket booked with Qatar Airways flight codes from Delhi to Doha and then from Doha to Amsterdam. I have booked my tickets through a third-party vendor, and both tickets indicate that the flight is with Qatar Airways. After doing some research, I found out that the flight from Delhi to Doha will be operated by Indigo. How does this work in codeshare flights? Do I need to check-in again in Doha for the Qatar flight? Will I receive my checked baggage in Doha or will it be directly sent to Amsterdam? The flight numbers are QR 4771 from Delhi to Doha and QR 273 from Doha to Amsterdam. I don't know the specifics in this particular case, but the whole goal of codeshare flights is that for the passenger, it is exactly as if the flight was operated by the codeshare airline. So codeshare agreements normally include the ability to do through check-in, to transfer luggage from one flight to the next, and so on (what is called an "interlining agreement"). As long as the two flights are booked on a single ticket/PNR, you should be able to: • perform "through check-in" in Delhi: luggage will be tagged directly with the final destination, and you should get boarding passes for both flights • get your luggage automatically transferred from one flight to the other so you don't see it in Doha, and it gets delivered in Amsterdam. The situation is different if the two flights are booked separately. In this case, unless you manage get the flights joined together, you would have to go ...

Indigo airline cheating on the name of compulsory web check

I have booked 3 tickets in Indigo airlines under single PNR. Now as per Govt. guideline for Covid-19, web check-in is compulsory. I was trying to web check-in for the same immediately after booking. They are showing only 4 free seats, that too all middle seat of different rows. To my surprise, All other seats are paid I just want 3 seats together in any row which is free. What’s the solution? As of now I haven’t booked it yet because of these charges. 48hrs. before flight departure, web chek-in will open & I have to book it anyhow. Can anyone tell me, what’s the solution for it? Indigo's reply on twitter for my complaint "Hi, please know our free seats are limited and get occupied very quickly. You can choose "auto-assign" for free of cost seat. However, for the preferred seats, the necessary charges will be applicable. Hope you understand! ~ Keshav" Then I replied to them like this: "Why can't I see, even a single free seat? When u r saying for "Auto-assign" it is free, then be transparent & put those free seats in public domain openly, rather than keeping surprised of Auto-assign so that customers pay unnecessary expense in panic !! @ DGCAIndia @ HardeepSPuri" So finally my complaint did work. Indigo assign me all 3 seats together as 1 time gesture for free of cost I always try to fight for the wrong things with 0% hope. Many times we take it granted & don't complain that's the issue. Ohh, that’s clear looting by them !!! Out of 3 seats, 1 seat is for my 2 yrs. old kid, ...

Indigo faces public backlash over fee for check

Express News Service BENGALURU: A torrent of anger and sarcasm towards Indigo airline was unleased online since Thursday afternoon following a tweet by a journalist about an elderly couple in tears at Mohali airport in Chandigarh as they were forced to buy their seats at Rs 750 apiece under mandatory web check-in and baggage payment. Despite not being tagged, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, replied to the tweeter Rohan Dua saying he would definitely look into the issue. When someone queried if the couple had asked for special seats like, front row ones, Dua went on to add they were charged for “regular seats, done from web check-ins.” Despite Indigo later clarifying in a tweet that the couple was charged for 7 kg excess baggage and Rs 1000 as handling charges for an additional check-in bag, the issue just refused to die down. The airline statement made no mention of any fee for seats. Indigo charges a passenger Rs 200 for printing of a boarding pass and the same sum as facilitation fee for domestic passengers if the check-in is done at the airport instead of a web check-in. This has been in place since October 17, 2020, said an Indigo spokesperson. Among those who expressed their annoyance over various charges levied by Indigo for its services was Bengaluru-based businessman, Prashanth George Verghese, a frequent domestic as well as international traveller. “This is truly ridiculous. No airline in the world charges you a fee for check-in at the airport. I ...
