School Holiday Extended Till June 18 Due To Surging Temp

Indore: District collector Ilayaraja T on Sunday announced postponing the reopening of government and non-government schools till June 18. The decision to delay reopening of schools came in response to the surging temperatures in Indore district. Originally scheduled to commence in between June 12 to 15, the schools will now reopen on June 19. A tweet at the Indore collector’s twitter handle at 1.57pm on Sunday stated that in view of the rise in temperature, collector Dr Ilayaraja T has ordered all schools in Indore district not to start before June 19. Collector has ordered all schools to strictly adhere to the instruction. Many parents who were worried about sending their children to school, when the mercury is on a rise, praised collector’s decision and thanked him. The decision to delay the reopening comes as the city experienced a sudden spike in temperature on Sunday. The mercury levels soared, causing discomfort and posing potential health risks to students. On Sunday, Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 38.3 degree Celsius which was normal while the minimum temperature was recorded 25.6 degree Celsius which was a degree above normal average. Noida School Closing News Today: Earlier, schools in Noida were shut for classes 1 to 8 till January 14 due to cold wave in the Northern parts of the country. Bhopal: As a massive cold wave grips various parts of North India, schools in many states have been closed. Schools were closed in a few districts of Madhya Pradesh on Friday as the intense cold spell continued across the state, officials said. The lowest temperature was recorded at 0.2 degree Celsius in Nowgong town of Chhatarpur district in the morning, H S Pandey, a senior official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) office was quoted saying by news agency PTI. Traffic on the roads was thin in many parts of the state while people were seen huddling around bonfires. Schools Closed In These Districts In View Of Cold Wave Schools up to Class 8 remained closed in some districts including Bhopal, Indore, Vidisha, and Ujjain on the orders of the local administration. As per Times now report, Schools in Madhya Pradesh have been shut till January 10, 2023, for classes up to class 8. Dense fog was reported in Guna, Satna, Datia, Jabalpur, Sagar, and Chhatarpur districts, while moderate fog covered areas of Gwalior, Rewa districts and Nowgaon towns in Chhatarpur districts. Dropouts Identified By Ngo To Get Admission In Schools

INDORE: Aiming at addressing the educational needs of underprivileged children, the district education department of Indore has instructed principals and in-charges of schools in four localities, to reach out to 43 school dropouts who failed to get admissions owing to lack of essential documents or financial constraints. The principals of government schools in Farid Nagar, Mayakhedi, T-Choithram, and Jhalaria Professors Colony have been entrusted with the responsibility of assisting these children and ensuring their admission into the nearest government schools at the earliest. “We have received a list of children — 5 to 13 years of age — from NGO Aim for Awareness of Society (AAS), who are school dropouts due to various reasons, and some have never had the opportunity to attend school. Therefore, these children will be admitted to the nearest government schools in their respective localities,” said Manglesh Vyas, the district education officer.
