Andhra Pradesh: IT giant Infosys to open satellite office in Vishakhapatnam

• As a part of its plan to tap into the talent pool, Infosys has decided to set up its offices in tier-II cities like Coimbatore, Vizag, Kolkata and Noida. • The company will have 1,000 employees in Vishakhapatnam working from the office. • Another leading IT company, Dallas Technologies is also preparing to start its operations in Visakhapatnam. Bengaluru-based IT giant Infosys will open its satellite office in Vishakhapatnam on October 1 and the company has rented a four-storeyed building at Rushikonda IT SEZ Hill-2 to set up its operations. The company will have 1,000 employees in Vishakhapatnam working from the office while the strength of the workforce is expected to go up to 3,000 over the next few years, Minister of I-T and Industries, Gudivada Amarnath tweeted. The company is also in talks with the state government on setting up a permanent campus in the future. Minister for Industries and IT Gudivada Amarnath has assured the representatives of Infosys, of all support in the setting up of their office in Visakhapatnam city. Infosys Global Infrastructure Head N. Prasad Mishra, Regional Head Amol Kulkarni and other representatives met the Minister here on Friday. The Infosys officials said they were planning to start their activities in Visakhapatnam with 2,500 to 3,000 employees. The site for the project has already been finalised. The Minister said that Visakhapatnam was poised to become the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh in future and expressed happiness that IT majors like Infosys were dropping anchor in Visakhapatnam. The company officials said they have plans to develop in a big way in the city. Mr. Amarnath said that Visakhapatnam has the ecosystem to meet the needs of IT companies and employees. Radisson Blue hotel has already started operations in the city and the Oberoi Group was also planning to develop a property in Visakhapatnam. Infosys likely to start operations in Visakhapatnam either in May or June

Infosys will start operations in Visakhapatnam in a few months, according to Suresh Narra, Delivery Head of the company here. Addressing the gathering at the CII Visakhapatnam Zone annual meeting and public session on ‘Advantage Visakhapatnam, the Growth Engine of Andhra Pradesh’, here on Saturday, Mr. Suresh said, “Infosys will start operations in Visakhapatnam either from May-end or mid-June.” The meeting was headed by CII Andhra Pradesh Chairman Neeraj Sarda. Industry sources said that Infoys had already started inviting interested candidates working in Enterprise Application, Software Development, IT-enabled Services for its campus in Visakhapatnam. On the other hand, speaking to reporters at the YSRCP office here, IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath said, “Infosys is interested to start operations at the earliest by using the existing infrastructure. After starting the operations, they can talk to the government about expansion of the organisation.” The company was supposed to start operations in October 2022, but it was delayed as the location of its office was yet to be finalised. Adani, Infosys set to buoy Vizag's IT scene

VISAKHAPATNAM: There seems to be finally some activity on the IT sector front in Visakhapatnam. The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority has recently accorded its approval to the layout plan for the proposed Adani Integrated Data Centre Park. As per the initial estimates, the business conglomerate will invest 14,634 crore on this project. The state government already allocated 130 acres of land in Madhurawada, following which the VMRDA gave approvals for the layout plan. Meanwhile, Infosys has announced that it will foray into four tier-II cities, including Visakhapatnam. The state government has initiated talks with Infosys for the Vizag unit.
