Is tomorrow a holiday for schools in ernakulam

Thiruvananthapuram: In view of incessant rains in Kerala, authorities have declared a holiday for educational institutions in seven districts on Monday. Several varsities here have also postponed examinations scheduled on Monday. The District Collectors in Kottayam, Idukki, Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts declared a holiday for all educational institutions, including professional colleges on Monday. Holiday has also been announced for schools in Nedumangad and Kattakada taluks in the Thiruvananthapuram district. While schools will remain closed, colleges will function on Monday in Kasaragod district. However, examinations will be conducted as usual here, authorities informed. In Ernakulam, only online classes will be held on Monday. Authorities have informed that students need not go to institutions. Kerala University has postponed the second semester MA, MSc, MCom, MSW and MCJ examinations scheduled to start on Monday. These will now start on November 22. The Kerala University of Health Sciences has also postponed examinations scheduled on Monday. The new date will be published on the university website.

Kannur and Ernakulam were the last to announce the holiday. With this, a holiday has been declared for educational institutions in nine districts in the state tomorrow. Holidays have been announced for educational institutions in Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad and Kannur districts. The decision was taken in the context of the weather department’s warning that heavy rains will continue in these districts tomorrow. Notification of Alappuzha Collector August 5 will be a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges and Anganwadis in Alappuzha district. Notification of the Collector of Pathanamthitta August 5th (5/08/22) will be a holiday for all educational institutions from Anganwadi to Professional Colleges in Pathanamthitta district in view of severe rain warning and heavy rainfall. However, the Collector has also clarified that there will be no change in the university examinations as per earlier schedule. Kottayam Collector’s Notice Friday (5th August 2022) will be a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges and Anganwadis in Kottayam district.
