Kerala Red Alert IMD Thiruvananthapuram Kollam Ernakulam Today Tomorrow Schools Colleges Declared Holiday

With torrential rains lashing Kerala, on Monday, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert to seven districts on Monday while the weather forecasting department sounded a red warning to Thiruvananthapuram and five other districts -- Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Idukki, Alappuzha, and Ernakulam -- on Tuesday. Besides, an orange alert has been sounded in Thrissur and Malappuram while a yellow alert was signalled in the remaining five districts. District Collector of Thiruvananthapuram, Geromic George, declared a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges for tomorrow, but he announced that the examinations will be conducted as per schedule. Holiday for schools tomorrow

The district administration has declared a holiday on Friday for all educational institutions functioning at Palayam, Jagathy, Thampanoor, Vazhuthacaud, Thycaud, Fort, Chala, Vanchiyoor, Chakka, Kannanmoola, Sasthamangalam, Kowdiar, Kuravankonam, Kesavadasapuram, Nanthancode, Kunnukuzhy, Attakulangara and Muttada areas. This is in view of the protest called by the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and Yuva Morcha in front of the Legislative Assembly on the day. However, the University, Board and Higher Secondary examinations would be held as per schedule, an official release here said.

Holiday for six districts tomorrow as part of Makara Pongal; Kerala considers Stalin’s demand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A holiday has been declared in six districts in the state tomorrow as part of Makara Pongal. Though a holiday is given in Tamil Nadu tomorrow, Kerala declared the holiday for day after tomorrow. However, after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin sent a letter to Kerala, the state changed the holiday to tomorrow. A holiday has been declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad and Wayanad.
