ITBP releases names of personnel killed in Pahalgam bus accident

In an official statement, the border police said it has identified the deceased as Head Constable Dula Singh (Taran Taran, Punjab), Constable Abhiraj (Lakhisarai,Bihar), Constable Amit K (Etah, UP), Constable D Raj Shekhar (Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh), Constable Subhash C Bairwal (Sikar Rajasthan), Constable Dinesh Bohra (Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand) and Constable Sandeep Kumar ( Jammu in J&K).

17 injured in bus accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur

A total of 17 people suffered injuries when a passenger bus turned turtle and skidded off the road in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Friday, officials said. The accident took place at the Gallawan-Panchari area of the district. The bus was on its way to Khorgali from Udhampur, they said. All those injured have been shifted to a hospital.

Jammu: Fire Triggers Cylinder Blast In Residential Buidling, Four Dead, 15 Injured

New Delhi: A massive fire broke out in a building in Jammu's Residency Road area on Monday, leaving four people, including a child, dead and 15 others injured. The fire started inside a scrap shop on the ground floor of the building. The death toll may increase further as the rescue operation is still underway, PTI quoted police officials as saying. The fire broke out apparently due to a short circuit. "The flames engulfed the entire building and some of the LPG cylinders kept inside exploded," said Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Chandan Kohli. The injured have been hospitalised. Residents of the building were mostly workers from Assam. Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha said an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each would be given to the families of the deceased. "Deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to LPG cylinder blast at a scrap shop in Jammu. My condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for speedy recovery of the injured. Directed the district administration to provide all the necessary assistance," Office of LG J&K tweeted. By Sunil Bhatt: Ten people were killed while around 55 others were injured after a bus fell into a gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Jhajjar Kotli on Tuesday. The bus, carrying 75 passengers, was on its way to Katra from Amritsar at the time of the accident. Jammu SSP Chandan Kohli said the bus was overloaded and carrying more passengers than the limit prescribed. All the ten people who died are originally from Bihar, police said. Police stated the passengers who were on board the ill-fated bus were originally from Bihar. There was a 'mundan' ceremony for a child and all the near and dear ones of the family were accompanying them to Katra at the time of the accident.
