I was looking for a small Vox-ish combo and came accros the JMI AC 15 : But when i saw the price (479 USD), i immediately thought this could be a scam of some sort : How come a JMI is priced so "cheap" ? Vintage JMI are highly sought after amps and an old (or vintage if you like) JMI AC4 would cost an arm and a leg (compared to small tube combos nowadays), so how come this new, or modern takes of JMI amps are so affordable ? Any thouhgts ? ajoep: Look at the back side label on the JMI amp in the linked photos. That JMI amp is made in China, not UK. That may account for at least some of the lower price. The new JMI website has minimal information about the company involved, beyond saying "Today we are excited and thrilled to announce the resurrection of the iconic Jennings Musical Industries (JMI)." This JMI is not the "iconic" UK-based Jennings Musical Industries Limited, which was dissolved in 2017. This JMI does have a linked twitter account since 2020 with a few postings and 11 followers. I suggest you ignore the JMI lineage and name on these amps in making a purchase decision regarding them. ajoep: Look at the back side label on the JMI amp in the linked photos.
