After a 3 hour long Court hearing in the Patiala House Court in Delhi on February 23, 2021, regarding the matter of lawyer environmentalist and engineer, Disha Ravi, being arrested for the supposed offence of sedition under Section 124A IPC, 1860 and being accused for sharing and creating the toolkit for the farmers protest, the court reserved its order on the bail application of the 22-yr old. Disha was arrested on February 13 after which she was kept in judicial custody for a period of 3 days. The Court upon hearing the matter questioned the police on where there was any existing evidence the toolkit had any connection to the violence that happened on the January 26. Additional Solicitor General S.V.Raju, representing the Delhi Police accused her for creation of the toolkit saying that she was advocating for a pro-khalistan state and was even part of organizations and conspiracies that created instability and unrest in the country more so in the midst of the farmers’ protest. He says, “This was not just a toolkit. The real plan was to defame India and create unrest here”. Delhi HC Condemns 'item Dance' Organised At Patiala House Court For Holi Milan; Seeks Report From District Judge

The Delhi High Court has condemned the ‘inappropriate’ dance performances held at the ‘Holi Milan’ function organised by the New Delhi Bar Association (NDBA) last Monday (March 6) in Delhi’s Patiala House Court complex. In a full court decision on Friday, the High Court objected to the function, and said that it was not in line with the high moral and ethical standards of the legal profession. The High Court said that it has the effect of tarnishing the image of the judicial institution. Sources confirmed to Bar & Bench that the Principal District and Sessions Judge, New Delhi District, Patiala House Courts has been asked to issue a show cause notice to the New Delhi Bar Association (NDBA) within three days and to take appropriate action and send a report to the High Court after taking into account the response of the NDBA. Till the issue is finally decided, the Principal District and Sessions Judge has been directed not to allow the court premises to be used by the present Executive Committee of the New Delhi Bar Association for any event, till further orders. According to sources, the High Court also ordered that whenever any District Court Bar Association makes a request seeking permission to use the court premises for any event, the concerned Principal District and Sessions Judge shall take steps to ensure that nothing is done “which lowers the dignity or tarnishes the image of judicial institution/legal profession”.
