In 2019, the government took a bold move on amending the Motor Vehicle Act, thereby increasing existing traffic violation fines and initiating a couple of new ones. Effective since the 1stof September, you could suddenly see more than 5 lakh people rushing to obtain their Pollution Control certificates and insurances. After all, it’s always better to be safe than sorry (or for some- better to spend a few bucks than to be broke! 😉) Fortunately, though, people in Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli, Udupi, Chikmagalur, and all the other cities in Karnataka can breathe a sigh of relief. Courtesy- revised fines! The infamous, new traffic fines have been revised on specific offences, taking the load off a bit, especially for those riding two-wheelers.
