Education Minister promises fair revision of syllabus

Thiruvananthapuram: A decision about simplifying the syllabus of the higher secondary courses would be taken in two days, announced Kerala General Education Minister V Sivankutty. He also promised a fair revision of syllabus and to retain lessons that uphold the Constitutional values. The government wouldn’t fall for vested interests when it comes to revision, Sivankutty said, citing recent overhaul of syllabus by central education boards in line with the priorities of the Union Government. “NCERT has cut down syllabus of many classes at the national level. Some topics were scrapped citing the pandemic and also to ease the burden of the students while some other topics were found to be irrelevant in the current scenario. However, we suspect the interference of some vested interests behind making such changes in social sciences like History, Political Science and Sociology. Kerala can’t be like that. But, cutting down the syllabus as part of easing the burden for students is under the consideration of the authorities,” the Minister said. 273namifcf57a7skc3v1flncv3 onmanorama-topic-general-topics-14-education onmanorama-topic-general-topics-23-kerala-school https-www-onmanorama-com-acp onmanorama-topic-person-45-v-sivankutty https-www-onmanorama-com-career-and-campus-top-news https-www-onmanorama-com-career-and-campus onmanorama-topic-general-topics-76-career-and-campus
