INTRODUCTION Hanumantiya island is a newly introducted water tourism destination in Madhya Pradesh tourism. It is close to Khandwa town in Western Madhya Pradesh. It is developed & promoted by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. The name “Hanumantiya” is derived from local village name with same name which lies in Punasa Tehsil of Khandwa district in Madhya Pradesh. I visted this place with my family on 27th November 2017. We travelled around 140 kms from indore to reach this place. Jal Mahotsav was going on so we had lot of expectations. Sight is very beautiful no doubt in that, it will give you the exact feel of sea instead of a river. Entry ticket was just 10 rs and has a small garden to children to play. There were many activities were going on such as para motors, para gliding, ski ride, boat ride, banana ride etc. I felt that the price for the activities were little bit on higher side, as the MP Tourism is managing this place, they can reduce it to a little bit tourist friendly amount. However as compared to foreign beaches, it is still lower. Most worst part of the sight is that only those who are paying for the activity are allowed to go further. And just after 3-4 minutes water activity they have to return back. No one is allowed to go near the water. You need to watch just as the spectators. There is no beach formed like the other beaches in india. What is the sense of visiting a place if you cant even touch the water. It is just for sight seeing. Except the sea kind of view, nothing is exception for the sight seeing. I dont know why people stay their for 2-3 nights. In just 1-2 hours you can go through all the activities if you have some handsome amount in your pocket.
