The temple has a unique flow in the sense that you enter on one side, keep moving in one of the 5 lines for quite some time, then have darshan, and still keep moving in the same direction to exit the temple. As such the entry and exit points are separated by about 1.5 km and there is no easy way to come back to the entry point once you have reached the exit point. So better to either not wear slippers when visiting the temple or wear disposable ones, since one cannot hope to retrieve the slippers back after darshan.
