In an event replete with pomp and glamour and attended by thousands of women, Madhya Pradesh chief minister transferred the first instalment of the state government’s ambitious Mukhya Mantri Ladli Behna Yojana in Jabalpur on June 10. Married women – including widows, divorcees, separated women and single mothers – will get Rs 1,000 per month. While releasing the amount, Chouhan said this was just the beginning. This amount would be increased to Rs 3,000 per month in due course of time. He also announced the setting up of Ladli Behna Sena which will ensure the implementation of the scheme throughout the state. Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 10 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the monthly aid of Rs 1,000 being given to women under Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana will go up further to Rs 3,000 in coming days. CM Chouhan made the remark while addressing a state-level program organised for transferring the first instalment of Ladli Bahna Yojana in Jabalpur on Saturday evening. "I have started the yojana with a monthly aid of Rs 1000 at present. Slowly I will increase the amount under this yojana. If money is arranged, then I will make it Rs 1250, Rs 1500, Rs 1750 and will further increase the amount to Rs 3000 a month," CM Chouhan said. State To Pay College Fees For Female Students Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan promises to cover the costs of girls’ college tuition upon completing 16 years of his signature program, Ladli Laxmi Yojana. Speaking at the event, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh announced that the state government would pay the tuition fees for female students attending colleges of medicine, engineering, law, and IIT.
