Levosalbutamol Sulphate, Ambroxol Hydrochloride and Guaiphenesin Syrup Manufacturer / Supplier and PCD Pharma Franchise

Levosalbutamol Sulphate, Ambroxol Hydrochloride and Guaiphenesin Syrup come with the brand name “ADBROX-LS” and belong to the class of medicines called ‘expectorants’ primarily used to treat cough associated with mucus. Coughing (dry or productive) is the body’s way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus, or smoke) from airways and preventing infection. There are two types of coughs, namely: dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is tickly and doesn’t produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty cough (wet cough) means mucous or sputum is produced to help clear your airways. Levosalbutamol Sulphate, Ambroxol Hydrochloride and Guaiphenesin Syrup is a combination of three drugs, namely Levosalbutamol sulphate (bronchodilator), Ambroxol hydrochloride (mucolytic agent), and Guaiphenesin (expectorant). Levosalbutamol sulphate works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. Ambroxol hydrochloride is a mucolytic drug that thins and loosens phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose. It also thins and softens coughs and sputum, facilitating simple coughing out as a result. Guaiphenesin works by increasing the volume of fluid in the airways, reducing the stickiness of mucus, and helping to remove it from the airways. Medical Benefits • This Syrup contains Levosalbutamol sulphate, Ambroxol hydrochloride and Guaiphenesin, used to treat cough associated with mucus. • Levosalbutamol sulphate is a bronchodilator that works by relaxing muscles and widen...

Spectrophotometric Estimation of Ambroxol Hydrochloride, Guaifenesin and Levosalbutamol Sulphatein Syrup

This study proposes a method for estimation of Ambroxol HCl, Guaifenesin and Levosalbutamol sulphate in syrup form. The study was done by combining three spectrophotometric methods viz use of first order derivative and colorimetry. Absorption of Guaifenesin and Levosalbutamol sulphate were found to be zero at 323 nm, thus enabling the measurement of Ambroxol HCl, using specific absorbance in first order spectrum. Same way absorption of Ambroxol HCl and Levosalbutamol sulphate were found to be zero at 276 nm, thus enabling the measurement of Guaifenesin using specific absorbance in first order spectrum. For colorimetric measurement of Levosalbutamol Sulphate, a colored substance was obtained by coupling the oxidized product of Levosalbutamol sulphate with 4- aminoantipyrine and Potassium ferricyanide and its absorption was measured at 503 nm. The proposed method was statistically validated in accordance with ICH guidelines and results were found to be satisfactory for accuracy, precision and specificity. • Rang H., Dale M., Ritter J. and Moore P., Pharmacology, 5 th ed., page no.357-367, 2003. • Sweetman S., The Martindale Complete Drug Reference 35th Edition, Pharmaceutical Press, page no .1398, 1168, 527, 2002. • Maryadele. Levosalbutamol: Uses, Interactions, Mechanism of Action

Xopenex Generic Name Levosalbutamol DrugBank Accession Number DB13139 Background Levosalbutamol, or levalbuterol, is a short-acting β2 adrenergic receptor agonist used in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Type Small Molecule Groups Approved, Investigational Structure Learn more Pharmacodynamics It acts by relaxing smooth muscle in the bronchial tubes to increase air flow and relieve acute shortness of breath. Mechanism of action β2 adrenergic receptors on airway smooth muscle are Gs coupled and their activation by levosalbutamol leads to activation of adenylate cyclase and to an increase in the intracellular concentration of 3',5'-cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cyclic AMP). Increased cyclic AMP activates protein kinase A which itself inhibits the phosphorylation of myosin produces lower intracellular ionic calcium concentrations, inducing muscle relaxation. Increased cyclic AMP concentrations are also associated with the inhibition of the release of mediators from mast cells in the airways, potentially contributing to its benefit in asthma attacks. Target Actions Organism A agonist Humans Absorption Inhalation delivers the medication directly into the airways and lungs, thereby minimizing side effects because of reduced systemic absorption of the inhaled medications. Volume of distribution Not Available Protein binding plasma protein binding is relatively low. Metabolism Pure (R)-salbutamol formulation known as levosalbutamol is met...
