LG 42 OLED Flex Review

The LG OLED Flex is a 42-inch TVthat's also popular to use as a monitor. It's a new model that's part of LG's 2023 OLED lineup, and its mainfeature is its customizable curve on the screen that you can set from a flat display up until a 900R curve. This provides versatility for when you want to sit back and watch a movie or if you want to sit up close for gaming and bring the edges more within your field of vision. As it's a TV, it has features most monitors don't have, like anα9 Gen 5 AI Processor 4K processor, webOS smart platform, and eARC for audio passthrough. Because of this, it's also missing some things you normally find on monitors, like a DisplayPort connection and a higher refresh rate, but with HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, it can still take full advantage of current-gen gaming consoles. We also tested the same display on a TV, and you can read the full review Our Verdict The LG 42 OLED Flex is excellent for most uses. Thanks to its outstanding motion handling, low input lag, and extra features, including HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, it's an amazing gaming monitor. It's also fantastic for watching content in SDR or HDR as it displays a wide range of colors and makes them look accurate, and it displays deep and inky blacks when you're using it in a dark room. While it's good enough for productivity and content creation, there are some limitations as it's prone to burn-in, so exposure to the same static elements over time can damage the screen. The LG 42 OLED Flex is decent to use as...

LG OLED Flex Review (42LX3QPAU)

The LG OLED Flex is a new 42-inch TVin LG's 2023 OLED lineup with the unique ability to curve its screen, accommodating different viewing styles and needs. It can go from being flat,so you can sit back and watch a movie, to a curve that goes all the way to 900R,a shape which LG calls the panel's 'Shield Design'. It'seffectively a TV designed like a monitor. It has LG's α9 Gen 5 AI Processor 4K processor, webOS smart platform, eARC for audio passthrough, and supports every gaming feature at 4k @ 120Hz with its HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. It also has LG's patented Super Anti Reflection (SAR) feature, which promisesless reflectionwhen compared to the We also tested the same display as a monitor, and you can read the full review Our Verdict The LG OLED Flex is an excellent TV overall. Its ability to curve makes it a great TV for watching movies and shows and a great gaming TV if you like to sit close and be fully immersed in the action. It has exceptional reflection handling, which is great when watching shows, sports, or movies in a room with glare, and the TV gets bright enough in both HDR and SDR to handle bright rooms. The TV's viewing angle is excellent, so the image remains consistent even when viewing the TV from the side, so watching shows or sports in a wide seating arrangement is a good experience. This TV has an incredible response time, so motion like fast-moving players or fast gaming action is crisp and sharp, with no blurring. As an OLED panel, it has deep, inky blacks wi...

LG 45GR95QE

The LG 45GR95QE-B is a 45-inch OLED monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 3440x1440 resolution. It's one of the first OLED gaming monitors available in this size and competes with the Corsair XENEON Flex 45WQHD. That monitor uses the same panel from LG Display as this one, and it's bendable, but the 45GR95QE-B has an aggressive 800R fixed curved instead, which may take some time to get used to. Other than that, this model has all the features you'd expect to find in a gaming monitor, with FreeSync variable refresh rate (VRR) support, G-SYNC compatibility, and HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. It's part of the same lineup as the Our Verdict The LG 45GR95QE-B is excellent overall. It's fantastic as a gaming monitor because it has a fast 240Hz refresh rate, VRR support, a near-instant response time, and low input lag for a responsive feel. Its near-infinite contrast ratio makes it an excellent choice for dark room gaming. Because of this, it's even incredible for watching SDR or HDR movies in dark rooms and displays a wide range of colors. While it's good for office use and great for content creation, it has some limitations as the text clarity is mediocre, it's prone to burn-in, and it has an aggressive 800R curve that may take time getting used to. The LG 45GR95QE is decent for the office, but it isn't ideal for it. It has wide viewing angles and amazing reflection handling if you want to use it in a well-lit office, but it doesn't get bright enough to fight glare. Unfortunately, due t...

LG OLED Flex: Watch This Huge Monitor Bend From Flat to Curved

Expertise Five years of tech YouTube-ing and two years of experience with diabetes wearable tech, which is used daily to foster better relationships with technology. Credentials • Audience-building across multiple social networks, including over 5 million subscribers for America's Got Talent and a niche diabetes tech education and community building platform The LG OLED Flex is both a TV and a monitor, but its coolest feature is a unique motorized screen. The 42-inch OLED panel goes from flat to curved using a dedicated bend button on the remote. After using it for a week, I found it offers an immersive viewing experience for gamers with its curved screen and built-in bias lighting. You can adjust the level of curvature with three presets and fine-tune it even further thanks to the motorized system. The monitor also has an X-shaped light on the rear that syncs to video and sound or cycles through colors. The games I played definitely felt more immersive with the combination of the lighting and the curved screen. It felt like I was using my own private arcade system as I leaned back in my chair with the screen lifted high and tilted down. The biggest drawback to the LG OLED Flex is the high price and large size. Not only does the stand measure 10 inches deep, but I needed to sit at least 20 inches from the screen to feel comfortable. That calls for a desk 30 inches deep or more, which is impractical for a lot of people. Not to mention, the monitor costs a whopping $2,500 --...
