Love in Contract: Episodes 9

81 October 21, 2022 Love in Contract: Episodes 9-10 by After skirting around their feelings for the longest time, the season of confession is finally here for our professional wife and her husbands. But where is the fun in that if everything goes exactly according to plan? EPISODES 9-10 WEECAP So it’s official that while Ji-ho’s aunt might have pushed him towards the antisocial cliff, his ex-wife was the one who sent him over the edge. Ji-eun hated being poor and spent her life chasing success. And the very day he wanted to surprise her with her dream house (in which he now lives), she handed him the divorce papers. It’s been seven years since then and Ji-ho hasn’t been able to fall for anyone else until Sang-eun came into his life. According to Ji-ho, a life where Sang-eun doesn’t exist feels dreadful. But it’s not like she’s telepathic to know how he feels. And she is left to spend the rest of the day with mixed feelings from seeing Ji-eun, and not knowing the real reason behind Ji-ho’s heroic appearance at the hotel. An overnight camping trip with Hae-jin seems like just what the doctor ordered to get Sang-eun’s mind off her Ji-ho induced confusion. But when a drunk Ji-ho shows up in her neighborhood, they have to drag him along. (I will never get over how drunk Ji-ho passes out in the funniest of ways!) It is on this trip that Sang-eun confesses that she has never received true love from anyone because everyone is out to use her. We already know that Sang-eun was adopt...

‘Love In Contract’ review: Korean rom

Marriage, at its core, is a contract – that’s how Choi Sang-eun sees it. By day, she calls herself a “single life helper”, or someone who assumes the role of a wife for men in need of a temporary partner. The reasons her clients need a faux spouse always vary – some ask Sang-eun ( Forecasting Love and Weather’s Park Min-young) to pose as a trophy wife for family or high school reunions, while others hire her to give a dying grandparent some comfort. • READ MORE: Little Women review: a gripping tale of family, struggle, and personal growth But a select few clients seek Sang-eun’s help with higher-stakes situations. Take Woo Gwang-nam ( Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’s Kang Hyung-seok). As an only son, his traditionalist parents’ hopes and dreams are riding on him – and they want him to tie the knot as soon as he’s able. There’s just one problem. As Sang-eun puts it: “He ticked all the boxes of a father’s dream of a perfect son, but he realised he was gay.” Unable and unwilling to come out to his parents, he resorts to asking Sang-eun for help. With 13 years of experience in the field, 12 divorces and plenty of satisfied regulars under her belt, Sang-eun is well-positioned to assist – and she agrees to do it pro bono. We go through a bit of a time-skip and find Sang-eun continuing to live with Gwang-nam as his best friend, though they are legally divorced. After over a decade of non-stop engagements, marriages and dozens of faux husbands, she has decided that the end of this odd caree...

Love In Contract

The Happy Ending After the obligatory break-up in the penultimate episode, the finale for Love in Contract begins with Gwang-Nam talking to Hae-Jin about Sang-Eun’s feelings. She’s bummed about the break-up, while our judge is back to his usual cold demeanour, no longer the smiley, bubbly man he turned into. He’s even cold toward his colleagues too, getting lost in his own work and sighing loudly to himself. Gwang-Nam checks up on Sang-Eun, who’s sitting in bed and not doing too well. It’s very clear that she’s in love with Ji-Ho, but finds herself constantly eating ice cream, crying… and eating even more ice cream. As for Ji-Ho, he asks Hae-Jin for help in learning how to drink, determined to try and get rid of his blues. Funnily enough, it’s Yoo who shows up and helps give an encouraging word, admitting to Ji-Ho that Sang-Eun really does like him and she doesn’t mean to “misbehave” right now. “Hurry up and go talk to her.” She says, before leaving. Do Ji-Ho and Sang-Eun get back together? Well, before that it comes from learning how to drink, and that arises from a night in with Hae-Jin and Jung Ji-Eun. Ji-Ho naturally ends up drunk, leaving Hae-Jin and Jung to talk together. With Ji-Ho in a reflective mood, Yoo is too and she speaks to Sang-Eun that night, holding her hand and apologizing for what happened in the past between them. She encourages Sang-Eun to go for Ji-Ho and to hold onto that sense of true love, which she deduces the pair have. When Ji-Ho heads home, he...
