In this interview, head of India originals at Prime Video Aparna Purohit and the film’s director Anand Tiwari discuss the ideas behind the making of the film, and reveal how they got Dixit onboard for the movie. Tiwari reveals it was a dream to even think that he could get Dixit for the lead character in his film. “When we wrote the script, we wanted somebody to encapsulate sincerity, serenity, a certain amount of gravitas and agency. At the same time, we wanted her to have a certain amount of vulnerability. It was a daydream to get Madhuri Dixit and that is what happened.” Insisting that all his characters are inspired by people around him, Tiwari adds, “(It is about) How we put pressure on moms to be all-encompassing - the best mom, the best wife et al - but we do not let them be who they truly feel like to be. Somewhere, we resonated with the fact that we have done the same with out moms. Madhuri Dixit married Dr Sriram Nene at the peak of her career and relocated to the US to start a family. For years, the actress and the doctor lived in the US until she returned to restart her acting career back in India some years ago. Now, in a recent chat, Madhuri has spoken about how the initial years of their marriage was tough as Madhuri had to adjust to the demands of Sriram’s job. Speaking on However, the actor added that there were positives too as she realised her husband is saving lives and tending to sick people. The actress said, “But I guess it's also so heartening and I always used to feel so proud of you because whenever I saw you being so concerned about the patients you are looking after or fighting for their rights... I know in the hearts of hearts, you are a very good person. In a marriage, it is important to know your partner.” Calling their marriage a ‘lovely journey’, Madhuri added, “We always had that partnership where we looked after each other and made sure the kids were always looked after, always felt loved and cared for. There are times when it is difficult but there are times when we know whatever we are doing in life is for the good and is something we both want." Madhuri and Dr Nene tied the knot in 1999 after which she relocated to the US. Their two sons – Arin and Ryan – were born in 2003 and 2005 respectively. Madhuri and her family eventually returned to India about a decade ago.

Madhuri Dixit's hubby Dr Nene allowed to practise in Maharashtra

The actor shifted to India with her family almost a year ago. Since then Nene has shown his keenness to practise in Mumbai. He was a practising physician in Colorado in the US before relocating to India. On, October 21 last year, DNA had first reported about Dr Nene’s desire to practise in Mumbai. According to sources, two top hospitals in Bandra and Andheri are vying to rope in Nene in their panel. However, before getting MMC’s permission, Nene visited KEM hospital and expressed his desire to work there. Dr Sanjay Oak, former dean of KEM hospital, said, “Dr Nene met me at KEM hospital and expressed his wish to join us. But he didn’t have registration from MMC.” MMC president Dr Kishor Taori said, “Before our council registration Dr Nene got permission from Medical Council of India to practise in the country. After that he applied to our council because he wanted to practise in Maharashtra. He has been given the state council registration and now he can practise here.” “Every doctor who practises modern medicine in the state has to register himself with the MMC. After he submits an application and his degree-related documents, they are checked by our committee; only then is a doctor allowed to practise in the state.”
