The temple complex is very large. At the entrance itself, you could have darshan of the temple guardian " 18 pati karuppasamy sannithi". After having darshan, you could enter the fort wall like structure which is the entrance of the temple.. Inside the temple complex, you have chakkarathazhwar sannithi, yoga narasimmar sannithi which are of much importance and very vibrational.. From here ( Near the exit gate of the entrance) you have a shortcut path to the theertham in the up hill near pazhamuthircholai. You have to walk for a certain distance to reach the theertham.. Very good parking space available.. Toilet facilities are also neat.. Small, budget hotels with home made preparation like food items are so present.. Come, have darshan and feel the vibrations.. The main deity of this temple holds an important, Historical and cultural function place in Madurai chithirai Thiruvizha. There is a famous Guardian temple for "18 padi karuppasamy". Do visit this temple in evening if possible, it is lightened with lamps, Diyas. The temple is magnificent, huge and always crowded. No matter what time you chose, there will be crowd. The temple itself is massive, once you are done with the darshan, the crowd is no where to be seen, it just disappears. The darshan may take (depending on the magnitude of crowd around 2-4 hours), but there is system of paid darshan available as well. In case you are going with kids (as we were), it is recommended to go with it. Paid darshan will allow you to have darshan in less than 1 hours (sometimes 30 minutes or less). Once out of the temple, the campus is huge, it will take further 1-2 hours to completely visit the temple. Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal (Madurai)

We went at 4:30pm and were told that the palace closes at 5pm. So visitors please time your visit accordingly. The imposing n tall pillars were impressive.Wee quickly went in n took photos. The gallery of artefacts was also interesting. There is also a sound and light show in English at 645pm n in Tamil at 8pm and lasts for 50minutes. The audience that day was noisy n restless that we could not enjoy the show. It was also interrupted by rain so the show was abandoned abruptly. The palace was undergoing renovation during our visit with some areas closed. The palace itself feels relatively empty though some parts are undeniably beautifully decorated. Inside the palace, there is also a museum but without interpretative panels to help us decipher the significance of the exhibited items. Can be skipped. Architectural beauty and place of historical significance. There is nothing to do inside you can just complete walk of entire premise in 10 mins and be done. 10rs per person entry ticket is charged.And the ticket issuing guy will ask you take 30 rs ticket for atleast 1 mobile No one checks mobile you can just enter directly Found place to be decently cleaned.
