Malshej Ghat Hill is one of the best ghats surrounding Pune and adjoining Kalyan via Alephata route. The mesmerizing hill views from this ghat are no less than what we get to see in Mahabaleshwar. A must visit during monsoon or post- monsoon months preferably July and August. Two among the 8 holy Ashtavinayak Ganesh Temples are very near to Malshej Ghat and can be covered in an one-day trip. 150 km from Mumbai, drivable distance, is an excellent weekend getaway for a 1 night stay. Preferred time is monsoons due to the greenery and the water falls, but Nov-Dec is also a very good time to visit. There are quite a few view points designated with car parks for a short halt for photographs. Roads are good for the most part. Well lit at night due to the illuminators. Harishchandragad is a hill fort in Maharashtra situated at an elevation of about 4670 feet in the district of Ahmednagar.
