MBBS Students Must Complete Course Within 9 Years of Enrollment: NMC's New Regulations

NMC has issued new regulations for students pursing MBBS. As per the newly issued Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023, all MBBS students must complete their degree within nine years of the date of their admission. Along with this, all MBBS aspirants must clear NEET UG for admissions in and outside India. Details below. In the new GMER 2023 Regulations, NMC has stated that students will not be allowed more than four attempts in the first year of their MBBS Courses. Keeping this in mind, no student will be allowed to continue their undergraduate MBBS degree after nine years from the date of enrollment in the course. "Provided under no circumstances the student shall be allowed more than four (04) attempts for first year (First Professional MBBS) and no student shall be allowed to continue undergraduate medical course after nine (09) years from the date of admission into the course," states the newly issued GMER 2023

Doctor of Medicine

MD or Doctor of Medicine studies the causes, effects, and diagnosis of diseases and medicines in detail. It is a super specialty advanced degree programme with a duration of 3 years. MD course is majorly taken up by doctors in order to advance their research degree in their respective fields.
