Jharkhand s MGNREGA Park Will Be An Employment Sector For Locals

The Jharkhand Govt has planned to strengthen its rural economy. The MGNREGA Park is going to be a financial support for the rural residents. There are 41 revenue villages under Churchu block of Hazaribagh with 12 revenue villages in Churchu Panchayat. Dumar village has become the centre of MGNREGA schemes with more than 10 schemes being operational at present. Nine families from Dumar village are developing a MGNREGA Park on 10 acres of land, which ensures at least 20 days of employment in a month. Every scheme under MGNREGA will be included in this park. This 10-acre park will not only create permanent assets in the village but will also ensure employment to the workers seeking employment in the respective block. Not as similar to a flower park or food park, but the MGNREGA Park will probably be surprising. Its a park where people's employment is being generated, a park where the government's schemes are implemented on the ground and which will play an important role in shaping the present and future of the villagers. Along with the help of the government and villagers 10 schemes of MGNREGA are operational here. Irrigation Well, Dobha, Didi Bari, Vermi Compost, Trench Cum Bending (TCB), Shed and other MGNREGA-operated schemes are successfully implemented on the ground. Strong model of Gram Swaraj MGNREGA Park is a model for better implementation of schemes. It is also a strong model of Gram Swaraj. The park has been constructed in Dumar village of Churchu block for the co...

Govt To Hike Mgnrega Workers’ Wages By ₹12

RANCHI: The “From July, MGNREGA workers in the state will be given an additional wage of Rs 12 per man-day. This will be the second increase in their wages in one year,” Alam told TOI. In 2021, the state government had increased the MGNREGA wages to Rs 225 per day after announcing that it would additionally pay Rs 27 to the workers over and above the Centre’s fixed wage of Rs 198. “Now, the additional Rs 12 will also be paid to the workers from the state’s own pocket. This is being done to put more money in the hands of the rural people and also strengthen the MGNREGA scheme in the state,” Alam said. Statistics available with the state government said Jharkhand generated 11.32 crore man-days under MGNREGA in the 2021-22 FY. “It is considerably higher than the man-days which were generated by the erstwhile BJP government under chief minister Raghubar Das, which created seven crore man-days in the 2019-20 FY,” Alam said. Alam, however, criticised the Centre for keeping the wage rates low in Jharkhand. “We have written to the Union government on several occasions and urged that the minimum wage rate for Jharkhand be increased. But it was nominally increased by Rs 4 during the ongoing financial year. Even then, it is below many states across the country,” he claimed. Alam also complained that the Centre has stopped paying the wages of over 1,100 workers who are employed on contract with the district rural development agencies. “We are also moving a cabinet proposal in the comi...
