New Delhi: Morari Bapu on Saturday sent Rs 50 lakh for the victims of the train accident in Odisha. He also expressed grief at the loss of lives in the tragedy that hit late last evening. In a statement Bapu was quoted as saying that Odisha has been hit by a major train accident. This is the biggest train accident to have happened this year. While 261 people were killed in the accident, more than 900 were injured. Morari Bapu is currently in Kolkata for his ‘Ram Katha’ program. He received information about the train accident this morning and announced an amount of Rs 50 lakh to help people, said a press release. The money will be delivered via a foreign listener, said the release. Morari Bapu prayed to Lord Hanuman for those who lost their lives in the accident. He also wished early recovery to those who have been injured in the accident. He also offered condolences to the family members of those who died. A major train accident occurred in Odisha’s Balasore district involving three trains. Of the trains involved, one was the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, second the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and a goods train. While the Railway Minister left for the site of the accident immediately, even PM Narendra Modi is visiting the area and meeting those injured at the hospital. The Railways has even announced compensation for those injured and to the next of kin of those killed in the tragedy.
