Students Make Long Queues For Registration In Ug

INDORE: Braving the scorching sun, students and parents made a final rush to MP Online kiosks and college help centres since the deadline for registration in undergraduate courses through Centralised Online Counselling came to an end on Monday. MP Online kiosks and college help centres witnessed a significant surge in activity as eager students and their families thronged the premises to complete necessary procedures before the deadline. Government colleges in Indore district that have been set up as help centres for students have witnessed students standing in long queues braving the scorching sun to rectify mistakes in their admission forms, documents and changes in the forms for the past few days. “We have a total of 16 help desks in our college and in the past few days, thousands of students came for verification work. Though registration deadline has ended, verification will continue till June 15. So, students should not worry,” said RC Dixit of Govt Holkar Science College. On the other hand, help desk in-charges told TOI that apart from document correction, some students were facing difficulty in selecting minority colleges along with non-minority colleges. As per the DHE guidelines on admission, students need to fill separate forms if they wish to opt for minority colleges along with non-minority. Students are reaching the help desks that they are unable to fill the second registration forms in such cases and registration has to be cancelled for new registration.
