NASHIK: The Mungsara substation of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has become the first such unit in the state to have received an ISO certification, for ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply to its consumers. “This is the first sub-station of MSEDCL that has bagged the certification, after going through rigorous third party quality checks. This will be a big boon to about 5,000-odd consumers of the sub-station, which falls in the tribal belt of Nashik tehsil,” said chief engineer of MSEDCL Nashik zone He further said, “The ISO certification focuses on the process of working and quality of materials, besides preventive aspects of maintenance that avoid unnecessary interruptions, or help the team apprehend problems and be ready for the least possible interruptions. All this means that the consumers benefit immensely.” A team of officials led by Deepak Kasav was working for the past two years to set things in place at the unit — from cleanliness to work safety, timely maintenance, dialogue with consumers, training staff and preparing weekly reports of activities to be carried out as well as those that have been accomplished already.
