I liked Remote Control. At least the bonus round involved music videos; not really a music show for the purists but it was entertaining and a cool diversion from the videos. Now The Real World, which was the blueprint for many a reality show today and didn't focus on music or music videos in any way is a better example. MTV is more about the young people's lifestyle than about being a mere music video channel. Then again, I haven't seriously watched MTV in well over a decade and I'm in my mid-twenties. When I think about the music video artform and how experimental videos were, I think the real downfall of MTV was when the 80s ended. Hopefully this thread won't turn into a "MTV used to be good" thread. Indeed 99% of things on MTVHD are not in HD but just because they are pillar boxed does not mean they are filmed in HD. There was an article that I read that I'm trying to find that proves my point. It was all about how MTV shoots in WS now and stuff and that its cheaper.
