Thrilled yet bewildered you will enter a world that will blow your mind but also give you an opportunity to learn all sorts of things... come and visit us! It is sure to be an amazing and unimaginable experience because whatever you see, especially here in the Museum of Illusions, is not what it appears to be. Are you ready for an adventure? Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night. What a great museum. Our granddaughter discovered this museum while researching what to do in NYC. Our grandchildren are ages 11 and 13 and they couldn’t have been happier experiencing all of the different illusions and we have countless pictures to prove it. By the way, we grandparents and parents also had such fun. The kids didn’t want to leave and kept returning to make sure that they didn’t miss a thing and to revisit their favorite ill...

How to get tickets to Museum of Illusions Austin, open in March

Appearances can be deceiving, but this new North Austin destination is no mirage. Museum of Illusions, an all-ages, interactive attraction, is set to open March 11, the American-Statesman can exclusively report. That's just in time for visitors coming in for South by Southwest, which runs March 10-19. The More: What is Museum of Illusions? The new 6,200-square-foot attraction will feature more than 70 exhibits that aim to “mesmerize” guests, according to the owners. There’s a focus on optical illusions and 3-D holograms. Sample exhibits include The Tilted Room, where you look like you’re standing on an incline; The Clone Table, which makes it appear like your identical siblings are sitting next to you; and Head on a Platter, which is self-explanatory. "The museum is designed to take guests on an unconventional, interactive journey into a world of illusions that many have never seen before,” Subhi Gharbieh, managing partner of Beyond Entertainment Group, said in a statement. The Austin location will include a “building illusion” that features artist Amy Cook’s famous “I love you so much” mural, a popular tourist photo opp near South Congress Avenue. Museum of Illusions claims its installation will use one of the largest mirrors in the country. More: So is it really a museum? Well, what are words, you know? If you’re asking whether Museum of Illusions is a museum in the way that major art museums like the Louvre (or, heck, the Blanton Museum of Art) operate, no. Institutions...

A Guide to the Museum of Illusions Philadelphia — Visit Philadelphia

The Museum of Illusions Philadelphia is an eminently Instagrammable attraction in Old City filled with dozens of hands-on exhibits meant to trick the eye and teach visitors all about vision, perception and the human brain. Joining existing locations in Toronto, Paris, Chicago and New York, the Philadelphia museum features rotating illusions big and small — some of which are not found in any of their other museums — that leave visitors scratching their heads and questioning their eyes. Located just steps away from some of Philly’s most iconic sites at The Experience From the reverse room — featuring an old-school diner booth hanging from the ceiling — to the spinning and disorienting vortex tunnel, there are plenty of opportunities inside Signs posted next to each illusion explain the science behind what visitors are seeing — or rather, what they think they are seeing — and many also offer suggestions for capturing the best photos. A game room in the middle of the museum is filled with puzzles and brainteasers designed to test visitors’ patience and coordination. And a small gift shop offers merchandise and whacky keepsakes like desktop puzzles and super-sized rubber pencils. Periodically, new exhibits are swapped out from other Museum of Illusions locations to keep things fresh for return visitors. Most visitors spend about an hour exploring the attraction’s hands-on exhibits and experience rooms. Admission & More The Museum of Illusions Philadelphia is located in Old City...
