Neil (Robert De Niro) is a high-stakes thief who steals from armed vehicles and banks, and he lives a solitary life that allows him to go and do as he pleases. Meanwhile, LAPD's Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino) is obsessed with stopping Neil's guys, possibly as a way to stop thinking about his drama at home. This week marks the premiere of Extraction 2, the sequel to Chris Hemsworth’s action vehicle, Extraction. And not even the apparent death of Hemsworth’s character in the original was enough to keep him from coming back in this sequel. But to be fair, the first film did hedge its bets about whether Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake survived. Are you having trouble finding something Extraction 2 isn’t your only option this week. Okay, the Tobey Maguire-starring films may have aged slightly since they were original released, and they can come off as slightly goofy, campy, and a tad misogynistic. Those issues aside, though, they're everything a comic book movie shouldbe – thematically rich, funny, action-packed, narratively dark when needed, gorgeous to look at, and come equipped with a banging score and original soundtrack.
