Chinese regulators try to assure sceptical foreign financiers

SHANGHAI/BEIJING, June 8 (Reuters) - China is open for investment, the country's top financial regulators told foreign financiers at a high-profile forum in Shanghai on Thursday, as concerns mount among foreign firms that they may no longer be welcome. The world's second-largest economy, keen for foreign investment to support its reopening after three years of COVID-19 restrictions, has But scepticism runs deep, as Sino-U.S. "We warmly welcome foreign-funded institutions with sound operations and excellent qualifications to expand their business in China," Li Yunze, head of China's National Financial Regulatory Administration, said in his first public remarks since his appointment at the newly established agency. "Opening up is China's long-term national policy, and the door of China's financial industry will only be opened wider and wider." He was speaking at the annual Lujiazui Forum, where senior representatives from HSBC China's top financial regulators have consistently stressed how open their markets are. Li told Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser exactly that in Beijing on Yi Huiman, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, told forum participants that China will "adamantly" push for deregulation in terms of market access, institution qualification and products. NFRA Chairperson, Members get flexibility to choose their pay

The Centre has now brought in flexibility to the emoluments for independent audit regulator NFRA’s chairperson and its members, giving a choice to prospective applicants on their final remuneration package. This move is expected to attract more people to these posts in the days to come, said economy watchers. NFRA is the sole independent audit regulator that was founded on October 1, 2018, to oversee the functioning of auditors of listed companies and large private companies. Rules amended The Corporate Affairs Ministry (MCA) has now amended the rules on terms of appointment and service conditions of NFRA chairperson and members to specify that a chairperson would have an option to draw either a consolidated monthly salary of ₹4.5 lakh without house and car or the pay and allowances as are admissible to a Secretary to the Government of India. Similarly, every full time NFRA member will have the option to draw either a consolidated monthly salary of ₹4 lakh without house and car or the pay and allowances as are admissible to Additional Secretary to the Government of India. It may be recalled that the Centre had, in March 2018, specified that the NFRA chairperson will be paid a salary of ₹2.5 lakh (fixed) and other allowances and benefits as are admissible to a Central government officer holding posts carrying the officer. CCI Chairman Gupta to be NFRA chief for three months: MCA

The incumbent NFRA Chairperson Rangachari Sridharan will demit office on Thursday, when his three year term as NFRA Chief comes to an end. Gupta will perform duties of NFRA Chairperson in addition to existing work as Chairperson of CCI, official sources said.

Alex attended Oglethorpe University and received a B.A. in Politics and attended Georgia State Lawschool for his Juris Doctor. While at Oglethorpe, he helped found the College Republicans in 2003. In2009, he became involved in the DeKalb County Republican Party and DeKalb County Young Republicansserving as Secretary, Vice Chair and eventual two-term Chairman of the Catherine Bernard serves as the lady junior NFRA National Director for Georgia, succeeding Debra Williams. In addition, Catherine has developed a reputation as a successful criminal defense attorney in Georgia. In 2012 she was elected as a delegate to the National Republican Convention. She and her husband Eric reside in DeKalb County. Brant serves in many roles in Republican politics in Georgia. In 2018 and 2020 he was elected as the 2nd Vice Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, and has helped to bring reform to the state party. He is also the Chairman of the Coweta County Republican Party (CCRP) serving since March2013. He previously served Abigail is a Christian, homeschool graduate who is passionate about the ideals underlying the Republican Party.
