Nokia Lumia Series

Known for its extraordinary durability, Nokia has come a long way. Nokia has been the world’s largest mobile phone vendor for more than a decade, with their early smartphones running the Symbian operating system. The Lumia series, which was released in 2011, was the first to feature Windows 7, followed by Windows 8 and 8.1. The Nokia Lumia Series consists of: Table of Contents • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • First Generation, Windows 7 From November 2011 to September 2012, the Lumia series included the launch of the Lumia 510, 610, 710, 800, and 900. The said five smartphones have 480×800-screen resolution. The first OS of this Smartphone was Windows 7.5, and the highest-supported OS was Windows 7.8. FM Radio and Nokia Maps were embedded in all these smartphones. The storage expansion was not even up to 16GB. Lumia 800: The first ever model of Lumia series by Nokia was Lumia 800, which hit the market in November 2011. The Nokia Lumia 800 is a great phone for those on a budget. It has a sleek design, a good camera, and all the features you’d expect from a modern smartphone. The display is great, with vibrant colors and good viewing angles. The battery life is also good, and it can easily last through a day’s worth of use. The performance is also solid, with no lag or stuttering. The only downside is the lack of apps compared to other smartphone platforms. GSM, HSDPA, and Wifi were available in Lumia 800. With AMOLED screen, Gorilla Glass, primary c...

Nokia Lumia 920 (AT&T) Review

Cons • Huge and heavy. • Windows Phone has fewer and different apps from more popular platforms. The Nokia Lumia 920 ($99.99 with contract) takes its role as Windows Phone's "flagship" seriously: It feels like it's the size of an aircraft carrier. If you're willing to put up with a huge chunk of Whether you like big phones is a personal choice, but know that they're a growing segment of the market. The Lumia 920 is in the same size class as the Physical Design The Lumia 920 is built like a tank. Its main body is a thick block of polycarbonate with rolled edges and a 4.5-inch Gorilla Glass screen on the front. The headphone jack is at the top center of the phone; the micro USB jack is at the bottom center. There's no memory card slot, and the battery is sealed in. The right side holds the Volume, Power, and Camera buttons. They're all prominent and easy to press, although I kept confusing the Power and Camera buttons. loading... Nokia offers more color options, but on AT&T, the phone comes in red, white, blue, yellow and black. The red and yellow are both very aggressive and glossy, like an Italian sports car. The blue is bright, but less exclamatory. The black is matte, the white glossy and sleek. Of the bunch, I like the white and blue best. Too many phones are black, and the red and yellow are just bright enough to be divisive. At 5.1 by 2.8 by 0.4 inches (HWD) and over 6.5 ounces, the Lumia 920 is the biggest, heaviest phone in its class. It's thicker than the LG Optimu...

Nokia Lumia 635 Review: A Windows Phone on the Cheap

Cons • Boring design • Low-resolution screen • No front-facing camera • Poor battery life on LTE Nokia’s Windows Phones run the gamut from premium devices to low-end handsets, but they typically come at a good price, regardless of hardware. At just $100 unsubsidized, the Lumia 635 is one of the cheapest smartphones with decent specs that you’ll find anywhere, whether you’re looking at Windows Phones or Android devices. Of course, to get the 635 down to that price, Nokia had to make a few sacrifices. The question is: are the concessions worth the price, or is the Lumia 635 too basic for you? Bland design, but it feels good to hold The Nokia Lumia 635 is the ultimate minimalist The Nokia Lumia 635 is the ultimate minimalist smartphone. It’s as basic as they come. There’s a headphone jack at the top of the device, a Micro USB port on the bottom, and a volume rocker right above the power button on the right hand side. These two buttons are glossy and smooth, while the white back of our review unit had a nice, matte finish. Nokia offers the 635 in yellow, orange, and black, with the option to change covers at will. The plastic seems strong, but the white shell gets dirty quickly and easily picks up random streaks of dirt, ink from pens, and other materials it encounters during the day. The 635 has a Gorilla Glass 3 screen with a somewhat wide bezel. The Windows button, back, and search keys are located on the screen itself, detracting from the overall display size. That said, t...
