We put the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G through our rigorous DXOMARK Camera test suite to measure its performance in photo, video, and zoom quality from an end-user perspective. This article breaks down how the device fared in a variety of tests and several common use cases and is intended to highlight the most important results of our testing with an extract of the captured data. Overview Key camera specifications: • Primary: 200MP 1/1.4″ sensor, f/1.65-aperture lens, OIS • Ultra-wide: 8MP, 120˚ field of view, f/2.2-aperture lens • Macro: 2MP sensor, f/2.4-aperture lens • Video: 4K at 30 fps, 1080p at 30/60 fps, 720p at 30 fps Cons • Exposure stepping in video • Oversharpening and loss of fine detail in video • Slight distortion and chromatic aberration in ultra-wide photos • Unwanted artifacts such as color quantization, ringing, ghosting and fusion artifacts in indoor conditions • Slow photo autofocus, especially in high-contrast scenes, indoors and in low light • Decent video stabilization but walking motion still noticeable The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G delivered an appreciable performance for a device in the High-End segment in our DXOMARK Camera tests.
