His political career is going in a different direction. Mr Khan, who has served as Pakistan’s prime minister since 2018, was due to face a no-confidence vote on April 3rd which he would probably have lost. Instead he ducked the ballot, called on the president to dissolve parliament and told the country to prepare for elections. Upon his arrival, the prime minister was warmly welcomed by First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee, the PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.
