This happens halfway through the new season of Panchayat. A wonderful little series that won audiences over a couple of years ago, Panchayat(Amazon Prime Video) introduced us to an ensemble of rough-around-the-edges villagers, forever compromising and adjusting with circumstances — forever making do. The Pradhan of the village, for instance, is only its chief because there is a government quota for female leaders; her husband runs the show while she bickers from home, perpetually sewing and darning. Everyone cuts corners, not least the show’s protagonist: the Panchayat secretary is an underachieving MBA aspirant who wants to get out of the village. Going by the same, on Monday, May 9, the creators dropped a full-length trailer of Panchayat season 2, thereby garnering much anticipation from fans. Just like the previous instalment, Panchayat season 2 is all set to take audiences on a roller coaster ride of laughter and happiness. Panchayat Season 2 trailer out The first season of the web series narrated the life of the engineering graduate, Abhishek Tripathi, who becomes the secretary of a Panchayat in Phulera, Uttar Pradesh due to a lack of better job options. Now, Panchayat season 2 will continue his story with additions of new obstacles in his remote village. If the trailer is anything to go boy, Panchayat season 2 appears to be filled with hilarious punchlines and comic dialogues. Stuck amidst crazy villagers and their weird problems, Abhishek begins to prepare for CAT in his move to get out of the remote area as soon as possible. However, the two-minute-long teaser also showcases that Abhishek's bond with the people of Phulera only grows stronger. 'Panchayat' Season 2: Ending, Explained

‘Panchayat’ Season 2: Plot Summary – What Is The New Season About? After Abhishek Tripathi’s unsuccessful attempt at the CAT exams, the panchayat secretary lives on in the quaint village of Phulera for one more year of administrative work and his own preparations for an MBA. However, the young man is now more settled with village life and has fewer bursts of frustration than before. He now gives off the sense that, as the panchayat secretary, he is able to look at the villagers’ unique problems as his own. His bond with the three colleagues—ex-Pradhan Brij Bhushan Dubey, deputy-Pradhan Prahlad Pandey, and office assistant Vikas—is now even stronger, as it has gone beyond friendship on its way towards kinship. The last time we saw Abhishek in Phulera was atop the tall water tank tower, as he made introductions with Brij Bhushan’s daughter Rinki. It was almost felt that he had taken a romantic interest in the young woman of similar age, and the writers seem to toy with that same feeling, as no romantic relationship or anything even close to it has been established between the two. Instead, Vikas and Prahlad are now struck with the same feeling that viewers were struck with—that something romantic might be going on between the pair. Although their hunch is quickly blown away by Abhishek, a sense of romantic interest does indeed cook up quite slowly towards the end of the season. The show also has villains this time, one in the form of a potential political rival to Brij Bhush...

'Panchayat' makers on expectations for season two: No point crumbling under pressure – ThePrint – PTIFeed

Mumbai, May 9 (PTI) “Panchayat”, a 2020 show about an engineering who takes up a government job in a remote village, became an instant hit upon its release and the team is confident that the sequel will be a worthy successor of the original story. The only way to deal with the pressure that comes with following a successful show is to retain the essence of the original, the show’s director Deepak Kumar Mishra said at the trailer launch of the Amazon Original show here. “The only way to stand out is with your work. What worked for season one was the content, its simplicity, the natural performances, the storytelling. “In season two, there is pressure, there is audience expectations. But we won’t be able to achieve anything if we crumble under pressure. So we did what we know best: hardwork.” Mishra said the season two of the show “will go a notch higher” and receive a response similar to the first season. “Panchayat” season two, set to premiere on Prime Video on May 20, sees the return of its original cast members, including Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta. At the trailer launch of the show, Kumar, best known for his role in “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan” and at the centre of the drama in “Panchayat”, said the series will also feature new characters. “We have played in the same zone of season one but tried something new. There are additions of new characters as well. This time, we have delved deeper into the village and panchayat, the way it works, what all ha...
