Parshuram height

Among the many famous temples of Chiplun, The Parshuram Temple is the most visited one. Situated at a height of 1000 ft. from the sea level, it is located some 10 km in the outskirts of Chiplun. This temple is mainly dedicated to Lord Parshuram, who was the 6thavatar of Lord Vishnu. Inside the sanctum, the idol of Lord Parshuram is flanked by the idol of Lord Brahma on the left and an idol of Lord Shiva on the right. The temple’s architecture is another reason why it is such a crowd puller. If noticed, it will be found that this temple displays many characteristics of Hindu, European and Muslim styles of architecture. Displaying 300 years old Hindu-Muslim mix architecture of the temple houses three idols that are surrounded by stone walls.

Lord Parashurama, the Brahmin warrior, is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is one of the eight immortals of Hindu mythology. His mother, Renuka, was a warrior princess. His father was a Brahmin, but he was also a great warrior. He was the disciple of sage Vishwamitra. Rishi Vishwamitra was a warrior before he became a sage. Vishwamitra had given all the military training to Parashurama. Parshurama also worshipped Lord During the times of Parashurama, Kshatriyas (the warrior clan) had become despotic and were considering themselves superior to all four Varnas. Sahastrarjuna, also known as, Kartavirya Arjuna, was the king of the Haihayas kingdom. He was one of the greatest warriors at that time and had defeated Asura king Ravana easily. Lord Parashurama was also a disciple of Lord Dattatreya. He had divided his kingdom into 1000 regions and had appointed 1000 officers as his representatives to collect the taxes and to look after administrative matters. Parshuram Mahadev Temple, located at the foothills of the Aravalli hills of Rajasthan, is counted among the main pilgrimage places of Hindus. According to mythological beliefs, this temple was built by Parshuram by cutting a huge rock with his ax. It is believed that this is the place where Parashurama invoked Lord Shiva for his severe penance. Today this place is known as a major Shivdham, to which Parshuram’s name is also associated. One has to climb 500 steps to reach this cave temple. The height of this temple is about 3600 feet above sea level. It is said that this cave has been made by cutting a single rock. The upper part of the cave looks like the udder of a cow. Bholenath is sitting in the form of Shivling inside this cave temple. Above the Shivling is the Gomukh, from where the water anointing of the Shivling takes place naturally. There is also a garden of Parshuram in the Saadi area here. Parshuram Temple Mandir is located in Chiplun region of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra. It is located in Parshuram ghat which is nearby Chiplun town. Also known as Shree Kshetra Parshuram. Lord Parshuram The legends associated with Parshuram: Parshuram was the son of Jamadagni and Renuka. Parshuram had received an axe from Lord Shiva after undertaking terrible reparation.
