You have to go by bridge to platform 2,but its manageable.Pathankot is the trijunction of jammu, himachal and punjab so you can find trains easily from there to any place. There are many trains to delhi, Haryana etc.The auto rickshaws of pathankot station charge a lot at night better you go wait for day and then go by bus, auto or ask someone to take you from Station.Pathankot is a military cantt area here you can see military vehicles or persons going by train like tanks, Buses ,etc come here by train and goes to unit by tracks which is laid upto the unit.
