This opinion has not been certified for publication or ordered published for purposes of rule 8.1115. OPINION MILLER, Acting P.J. Plaintiff and appellant Terril W. Johnson II (Johnson) sued defendants and respondents Pawnee Leasing Corporation (Pawnee) and Katherine Kane (Kane). Johnson alleged (1) fraud upon the court; (2) a fraudulent business act (Bus. & Prof. Code, § 17200); and (3) that Kane violated her duties as an attorney (Bus. & Prof. Code, § 6068). Pawnee and Kane brought an anti-SLAPP motion. (Code Civ. Proc., § 425.16.) 1 The trial court granted the anti-SLAPP motion. Johnson contends (1) the trial court erred by granting the anti-SLAPP motion; and (2) the anti-SLAPP motion was untimely. We affirm the judgment. FACTUAL AND PROCEDURAL HISTORY A. Pawnee Leasing Corporation

Just realized today that I have been completely scammed. I was assured I could pay off my lease at any point with no additional charges or fees. Come to find out after borrowing $9600 and requesting my payoff after only 6 months I am still responsible for paying all the remaining 29 months and I still owe them over $17,000. I knew going in it was a lot of additional cost and when working with my rep I made it clear I would be paying it off ASAP. His name is *********************** with ***********************. A broker for Pawnee leasing. He assured me it would be no problem at all. But he failed to mention it would be at the cost of all 36 months of payments regardless of when I want to payoff the amount I borrowed. Him as well as pawnee leasing are very much taking advantage of people. It's under the guise of they buy the equipment you lease it from them at an extra fee and that's that. When in reality it's not how it works. It's the buy it and sell it to you on am onthly basis and charge you 2-3x what you borrow and you have no choice but to pay that 3x price regardless of pay off time. They se you up in a contract that is designed to just steal money from you with nothing offered on their end. It's the most disgusting program I have ever seen. I should have never done it. We only did it just to avoid some out of pocket expenses to save capital for later. And now I owe them over 2x what I should and they are like to bad so sad. Give us free money. We are disappointed to...

Pawnee Leasing 700 Centre Avenue, Fort Collins, CO Complaints and Reviews

Beware of Pawnee Leasing scam. They run an insurance fraud on consumers! I bought salon equipment and submitted all insurance paperwork they required. They took money from my account on top my monthly lease payment pretending that I don't have insurance. It's unauthorized charge and I had to file a complaint against them with my bank. Plus they try to charge me another $250 fees and taxes that aren't part of the contract. When I went online to check on their credibility, so many people are complaining about them. The state of Colorado where they officially have a physical address should do something about this scam company. They're definitely unethical. Read full review of Pawnee Leasing I am in a nightmare with this horrible finance company! I own a small business in Wisconsin and I was trying to lease a piece of equipment when I was referred to H.I.L. financial and they sold me out to Pawnee leasing. From day one they have screwed me with absurd fees and so called "interim rent" charges when I havent even received the piece of equipment yet! There contracts are written so confusing that you are lost in what you are signing. No where in the contract does it state the amount of this so called interim rent payment or the fact that it doesnt count towards any of your lease payments. Eagle Road, along with several other oil companies, was named as a defendant for “allegedly contributed to causing the earthquakes near Pawnee, Oklahoma and occurring within the Settlement Class Period,” due to operating wastewater disposal wells in the area according to the Poynter Law Group representing the plaintiffs. “The Settlement resolves any and all claims alleged to arise against Eagle Road from earthquakes between November 15, 2014, and the Effective Date with epicenters within a 50-mile radius of Pawnee, Oklahoma, including but not limited to the 5.8m earthquake near Pawnee on September 3, 2016, and the 5.0m earthquake near Cushing on November 6, 2016,” Poynter’s statement reads. “Eagle Road disputes and denies all of the allegations made by the Plaintiff. The lawsuit will continue against the remaining defendants, Cummings Oil Company, Territory Resources, LLC, and EnerVest Operating, L.L.C. (hereafter “Non-Settling Defendants”).” The Pawnee earthquake was at the time considered the largest in the state’s history, causing a swath of damage in and around Pawnee and Payne counties.
