Adding that he feels ‘duped’, Solanki said, “I have filed a case in the trial court and notices have been served to the producers and others. Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai In Legal Trouble; Lawyer Who Inspired Manoj Bajpayee Film Says His Rights Were 'Violated'

Manoj Bajpayee once again proved his acting prowess in his new film, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. The film followed the real events of a brave and resilient Advocate Poonam Chand Solanki who fought a POCSO case against a self-styled godman. The movie received critical acclaim and a positive response from the audience. Days after its release, it has now come to light that Advocate P.C Solanki has sent a legal notice to the film's producer for violating his intellectual property rights. Poonam Chand Solanki: The man who fought without fear or favour

Solanki, the counsel for the girl’s family, also remained unshakably determined despite the presence of legal stalwarts, including “When we have to fight the corrupt and criminally inclined godman, we need to show ourselves sound and committed within a legal framework. I am thankful to so many seniors who inculcated the right values in me while I started practising,” Solanki said while talking to TOI after the judgment. After Solanki was roped in as lawyer, he made it a point that since the girl’s family was poor he won’t charge a penny to fight the case. “We were fighting for truth and not doing this for money. It was a different scenario where the defence had lawyers charged lakhs for each hearing,” he added. “I got innumerable threats and people even offered me in crores of rupees. But what was pleasing and gratifying was the smile and hope on the faces of the girl and her father,” he said. Proudly recounting his face off with Jethmalani, he said, “Like any lawyer, I was also excited to see him when he had come to argue the bail application in the Rajasthan HC. But I argued without fear and spoke on facts. It was a memorable moment for me.” “The smile on my 84-year-old father

Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai Review: Manoj Bajpayee Starrer

Courtroom-drama Director: Apoorv Singh Karki Starring: Manoj Bajpayee, Surya Mohan Kulshrestha, Vipin Sharma, Adrija Roy New Delhi: 'Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai' is a quest for justice. A valiant mission of humble lawyer Poonam Chand Solanki (Manoj Bajpayee) for the sake of a minor girl caught up in a battle with a self-styled godman. The movie, which is loosely based on real-life events, tells the story of a five-year legal battle to bring down a powerful Baba (Surya Mohan Kulshreshtha), who is charged with infringing the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act of 2012 (POCSO) and imprisoned after a 16-year-old girl named Nu Singh (Adrija Roy). The case centres on the fight the advocate waged in court against solicitors like Ram Jethmalani in the well-known incident where many witnesses were attacked and lost their lives. In a society where a demon takes on the identity of a godman, the young girl bravely speaks out against him. While an FIR is being filed against the offender in the first scene of the movie, a large crowd can be heard chanting in support of the godman. Later, as the court case continues, we notice once more how, at times, mindless faith in society wins over humanity. The family of Nu employs PC Solanki to represent them after being taken advantage of by other attorneys. The movie portrays the challenges of a lawyer taking on a prominent case with honesty and is, if anything, extremely moving. A female police officer asks the victim to hide her face ...
