30 BEST Places to Visit in Jaisalmer

I recently returned to Jaisalmer after two years and decided to visit Ali Baba’s Boutique again because I had bought a camel wool shawl on my last visit and absolutely love it. This time I wanted to buy a couple more for presents as well as treat myself to a camel wool blanket. Camel wool is as soft as cashmere in my opinion. This time I also fell in love with bamboo shawls, very silky and lustrous. However the best part of the experience is to sit and chat to Ali Baba, who is very laid back and enjoys chatting about all kinds of things while offering delicious chai. He speaks several Languages and very much enjoys talking to visitors whether you buy anything or not. Absolutely no hard sell which is very refreshing and makes for a relaxing visit. We met Depak ji on the day celebrating holi festival. For foreign travellers Holi can be quite overwhelming. He allowed us to sit with him and created a safe space outside his shop where we could still play holi but also observe from a small distance. This was a huge blessing for us and shows the character of this man. From this time shared we befriended both Depak and his brother in law Rahul. Depak and his wife own Bellisima. They have 2 shops in the fort both selling traditional textiles and handicrafts. The best thing about their stores is that the money from the product is given directly to the women who create them. Real and authentic conscious consumerism. This is really important for us whilst shopping. Above depaks shop i...
