Bodies of three out of four people who drowned in the Ganga while taking a bath at the Phaphamau ghat here have been recovered, police said on Wednesday. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Shivkuti) Rajesh Kumar Yadav said Umesh Kumar Yadav (40), a jawan in the Rapid Action Force, his son Vivek Raj (11), daughter Deepshika (7) and neighbour Abhinav (9) had gone to the ghat on Tuesday. They drowned after venturing into deeper water, the official said, adding bodies of Umesh Kumar Yadav, Vivek Raj and Abhinav have been recovered. Image Credit: ANI • Country: • India • SHARE • • • • Three children and a Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel drowned in the Ganges at Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj district, while they were taking a bath, police said on Wednesday. The incidents took place at Phaphamau Ghat. Upon receiving information, personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and RAF reached the spot and fetched the bodies from the river after prolonged efforts. According to the police, the RAF jawan identified as Umesh Kumar had gone to take a bath in the River Ganga at Phaphamau Ghat. He was accompanied by his children- Vivek and Sweety- and his neighbour's child Abhinav. According to police the children slipped deeper into water while playing and started to down and seeing this Umesh rushed to rescue them but he was unable to handle the strong current of the water and got swept away. PRAYAGRAJ: The management of Shri Mankameshwar temple have put in place a dress code for devotees wishing to enter the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine. A board carrying seven-point dress code has been installed at the gate of the temple. "Devotees must be conscious about rich Indian culture and tradition and must wear decent clothes while entering and offering prayers to deities at the temple. Men must wear kurta-dhoti while women must be dressed in sari when they are engaged in performing abhishek and pujan of lord Shiva at the garbha griha of the temple," chief priest and mahant Shridharanand Brahmachari told TOI. He added that many a times it has been observed that people visit the temple wearing shorts, jeans, skirts and other indecent dresses.
