‘improve Roads In Prayagraj Division Before Maha Kumbh’

Lucknow: CM Yogi Adityanath has asked public works department (PWD) to focus on improving road connectivity in Prayagraj division ahead of the Mahakumbh-2025. In a recent meeting with senior officials of PWD and minister Working on the directives, the department has initiated works on strengthening and upgrading 35 road stretches that are going to facilitate movement in the division. Among them, the most crucial project will be connecting Prayagraj airport to Kaushambhi via four-lane state highway. Moreover, out of the remaining 34 road projects in the Prayagraj division, 12 routes within the district are going to be strengthened while link routes to Fatehpur, Pratapgarh and Kaushambi will be upgraded.

Bodies of 3 People Fished Out of Ganga in Prayagraj, One Missing

Bodies of three out of four people who drowned in the Ganga while taking a bath at the Phaphamau ghat here have been recovered, police said on Wednesday. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Shivkuti) Rajesh Kumar Yadav said Umesh Kumar Yadav (40), a jawan in the Rapid Action Force, his son Vivek Raj (11), daughter Deepshika (7) and neighbour Abhinav (9) had gone to the ghat on Tuesday. They drowned after venturing into deeper water, the official said, adding bodies of Umesh Kumar Yadav, Vivek Raj and Abhinav have been recovered. UP Man Murders Partner Hides Her Body Under Tank His House Arrested After Mumbai Mira Road Murder

A man allegedly killed his partner and hid her body under the tank of his under-construction house in Prayagraj. The body of 35-year-old Raj Kesar was recovered from the house of her partner named Arvind in the Mahewa locality under the Yamunapar Karchhana police station area on Friday. Station House Officer (SHO) Vishwajeet Singh told news agency PTI that Arvind killed Kesar about 14 days ago and hid her body in a tank at his house. The search began after her family reported her missing. According to PTI, after the police checked the call details of her phone, Arvind was taken into custody and interrogated, during which he revealed where the body could be located, SHO Singh said. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. According to ABP News sources, the victim was killed on May 24. The accused had murdered his girlfriend with the help of his two friends. Prayagraj: Subsidized Flats Built On Land Seized From Gangster Atiq Ahmed, Allotted To Poor

Seventy-six flats constructed on land previously owned by the deceased gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed were recently allotted to underprivileged individuals through a lottery system, according to an official from the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA). During the program, Arvind Chauhan, the Vice-Chairman of the PDA, stated, "We acquired the land in the city where Atiq Ahmed resided and operated his office." Chauhan highlighted that the flats were allocated based on the government's guidelines for reservations, considering Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, individuals with physical disabilities, and senior citizens. Each flat boasts modern amenities and comprises a bedroom, living room, kitchen, toilet, bathroom, balcony, as well as electricity, sewerage, and parking facilities, Chauhan added. A representative from PDA mentioned that two four-storey towers were erected in the Lukarganj area, with each flat costing Rs 6 lakh. The beneficiary is required to pay Rs 3.5 lakh, while the central government will provide a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh, and the state government will contribute Rs 1 lakh. Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were fatally shot at close range by three individuals posing as journalists during a media interaction on the night of 15 April this year. The incident occurred while they were being escorted by police personnel to a medical college in Prayagraj for a check-up.
