Pune: Amid high night temperatures in the city, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms warning for all four divisions of Maharashtra. In Pune, the sky will be mainly clear in the morning hours, however, there will be partly cloudy weather, and light rainfall might be experienced in the afternoon /evening time.” Higher night temperatures As the city has been experiencing dry weather since the beginning of June, the minimum night temperature is recorded on the higher side in many areas, including Wadgaonsheri, Hadapsar, Shivajinagar, and Pashan. According to IMD data, the mean minimum temperature is considered 22 degrees Celsius. However, the mercury is noted between 25 to 26 degrees in the eastern parts of the city. Climate chart - Pune The climate of Pune (or Poona) is tropical, with a rainy season from June to October, due to the monsoon, and a dry season from November to May. On average, the monsoon in Pune runs from 10 June to 11 October. The city is located in south-central India, in the state of Maharashtra, at the confluence of the Mutha and Mula rivers, at 18 degrees north latitude and 570 meters (1,870 feet) above sea level. A little to the north is the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad, which has the same climate as Pune. Instead, on the coast, about 110 km (70 mi) to the north-west is the city of Mumbai.
