The story of a young man with unconventional looks winning a national talent hunt and making his way to the industry sounds like a fantasy today. Born on 29 December 1942 in Amritsar, Khanna’s four-decade long career saw many ups and downs as he struggled to stay relevant after a smashing first few years.
