Earlier today (Thursday), Raju Srivastava was cremated in Delhi. Ayushmaan, his son, conducted the Hindu cremation rites. Nigambodh Ghat, on the banks of the Yamuna River, was the site of the cremation. Funeral arrangements for Raju Srivastava began at 9 a.m. when an ambulance decorated in white flowers transported his body to the location. His family and a few close friends, such as Sunil Pal and Ahsaan Qureshi, were present for his cremation and last rituals. Veteran poet Surendra Sharma, Ashok Chakradhar and director Madhur Bhandarkar also paid their respects during the cremation. Pradeep Khandelwal, brother-in-law of Raju Srivastava said “I have come from Lucknow. After 40 years old relationship, his sudden death is very disheartening. He used to meet everyone warmly.” Amitesh Kumar Srivastava, brother-in-law of Raju Srivastava also mentioned his 14 years old relationship with Raju. He said, “Raju Srivastava is a legend and will remain a legend. We have memories, no matter what happens. Even after being a star, he was a man attached to the roots. Raju ji has no comparison. He used to look for comedy in the things of the house. Raju ji will always be missed.” Preparations have started for Raju Srivastava's last rites. Raju Srivastava had been admitted to a Delhi hospital on August 10 after he suffered a heart attack. He was experiencing chest pain and collapsed while working out at the gym.
