Personal life [ ] She was born to Chaudri and Indirakumari at Anna Nagar, Madras. She was their only child. Death [ ] On the morning of 15 October 1986, Rani Padmini's driver, Jebaraj, watchman Lakshmi Narasimhan alias Kutty, and cook, Ganeshan attacked her mother Indirakumari and killed her. Hearing her mother's screams, Rani Padmini came to investigate but was overpowered by the men and murdered. The three were, however, arrested and sentenced to life terms. CHENNAI: October marks the 36th death anniversary of the brutal murder of Ranipadmini, a popular actress of South Indian cinema in the 1980s. Rani Padmini was only 24 years old when she was killed. Rani Padmini was brutally murdered along with her 42-year-old mother Indira when she was at the peak of her career. The details of the incident is as follows: Ranipadmini was born in Anna Nagar, Madras. Rani's mother Indira's passion for cinema brought her daughter to cinema. She desperately wanted her daughter to achieve what she could not achieve. When her attempts to become a heroine in Hindi cinema failed, mother and daughter came to Madras to try their luck. Upon arrival, Padmini and her mother Indira rented a luxury bungalow at 18 Avenue in Anna Nagar. Then they gave an ad in the newspaper showing that they needed three employees. It was a wrong decision. Three people had come to work after seeing Rani Padmini's newspaper advertisement. for job positions of watchman, cook and driver. After seeing the advertisement, a man named Japraj came work as the driver. Exactly one month after this, a man named Lakshminarasimhan came to work as the watchman. Lakshminarasimhan was convicted several times in car theft case. Japaraj and Lakshminarasimhan were friends. They were followed by a cook named Ganesan. New Delhi: Rani Padmini, also known as Padmavati, is believed to be a 13th century Indian queen and is the subject of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. Accusing Mr Bhansali of twisting historical facts by romantically linking Queen Padmini with Sultan Alauddin Khilji, members of a fringe group Rajput Karni Sena attacked the filmmaker during a shoot at the historic Jaigarh Fort in Jaipur on Friday. After assurances from Mr Bhansali that there are no intimate scenes in the film, members of group have now demanded it be renamed and they must be allowed to review the film before release. In 1303, Allaudin Khilji attacked the kingdom of Chittorgarh which was under the rule of the Mewars. Rajput historians say Allaudin wanted to capture Rani Padmini. • Allaudin captured Ratan Singh and sent a message to Padmini that the king would be released if she agrees to go along with him. • Rani Padmini sent 700 troops to rescue Rana Ratan Singh and the troops were successful in rescuing the king but Khilji followed the troops and the king. • A fierce battle took place at the Chittorgarh fort and Rana was killed during the battle.
