On his official Instagram account, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant shared a small clip of him climbing stairs without any support. It shows that Pant is making a fast recovery from his injury. Rishabh Pant played his last game for Indian Cricket Team against Bangladesh on December 22, 2022, in the longest format of the game. Pant was immediately ruled out from the upcoming ICC World Cup following his injury. He had to go through three crucial surgeries to get on his feet. During his initial days of recovery, the 25-year-old visited the training camp and matches of the Delhi-based franchise and earlier he also made a short visit to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to encourage the young stars of Indian cricket. Rishabh Pant made his international cricket debut in 2017 against England in the T20I format, after which he scored 987 runs in 66 matches. He made his Test cricket debut in 2018 against the English side following which he made appearances in 33 matches and scored 2271 runs. He made his ODI debut against West Indies in 2018 and played 30 games after that and scored 865 runs.

The 25-year-old had to undergo three major surgeries and has been effectively ruled out of competitive cricket for the rest of the year. Pant's car met with an accident while returning home from Delhi. His car met with an accident on the Narsan border of Roorkee near Hammadpur Jhal. According to eye witnesses, Pant's car collided with the railing and caught fire. With great difficulty, the fire was brought under control.
