Rubal Shekhawat (Femina Miss India 2022 - 1st Runner-up) credits her family for her win at the recently concluded Miss India 2022 pageant held in Mumbai. Despite coming from a conservative family in Rajasthan, Rubal dreamed about wearing the coveted crown for years. She says, “I come from a family where I have two elder sisters and I was always asked, ‘ Arre, koi bhai nahi hai? That’s sad!’ I used to wonder — why do we need a brother to protect us? I wanted to prove to society that a girl can take care of herself and be self-sufficient. So, while growing up, I wanted to be a part of the military and serve the nation.” However, as she grew up, Rubal wanted to use her voice to reach out to others. “I participated in the Miss India pageant because this is a platform that gives women a chance to be self-sufficient and pushes them to be confident." Rubal says, “Through my journey, I want to positively influence girls from my community.” She reveals that coming this far would not have been possible without the support of her father and sisters. Femina Miss India First Runner-up 2022, Rubal Shekhawat has been on cloud nine after she participated in the pageant. She did a music video with Emraan Hashmi last year and this year, she's set to make her movie debut with a Telugu movie titled 'Ey Pilla'. It also marks the debut of Maadhav Bhupathi Raju who is The training for a pageant must be so different to now doing a film. How has the experience been for you? When you are in a pageant, you have to be very presentable, poised. But when you're working in movies, you have to be very natural, they don't need a girl who is very well-behaved. They want someone who can cry, laugh and showcase all the emotions and who's not just a pretty face. This is something I passionately want to follow and so I really will work hard for it. It's not hard to learn a language and it's also not easy. But people in the team are helping me work on it. HYDERABAD: Rubal Shekhawat, headed straight for Tollywood after bagging the First Runner-up position at the 2022 Miss India pageant, and is playing the lead in Avasaraniko Abbadham, directed by Ayaan Bommalee. Rubal is paired with Thrigun in the romantic comedy produced by Dr. Jagadish Yalamanchili. "I’m thrilled to debut in an industry known for producing cool content and humongous box office numbers. I couldn’t have asked for a better launch," says an excited Rubal. According to her, life after the pageant has been great.
