XTX Markets makes significant donation to Pratham to support education for children in rural India

LONDON, July 13, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- XTX Markets has committed USD 3 million over 3 years to support Pratham's " Hamara Gaon" (Our Village) program focused on foundational learning and community engagement and to support development of tools and scalable solutions for Pratham's early years program. Pratham's Hamara Gaon program will look to not only improve the learning levels of children but create a community driven learning environment that is sustainable in the long run. Additionally, with a more nuanced understanding of children's numeracy abilities, enhanced math activities will be introduced both in school and in communities. Young Children (children in age group 3 to 8) are enrolled in a variety of institutions and inputs received by children vary depending on the type of institution they are enrolled in. Due to variation in inputs provided to children at different age levels, gaps in learning start to develop. The poor learning outcomes of children in later years stem from this lack of foundational skills in children in early years. Thus, it is important to track learning trajectories of children using a "School Readiness" tool and minimise gaps at an early age. Pratham will develop a continuum tool for pre-school and Grade 1 and 2 and develop links between the tool & learning strategies in pre-school and Grade 1 and 2. Pratham will also advocate use of the continuum tool and activity package at a large scale especially in its government partnership programs. Dr....

The Yidan Prize - the world’s highest education accolade - is an inclusive education award that recognizes individuals or teams who have contributed significantly to the theory and practice of education. Celebrating Pratham

There are many reasons to celebrate Pratham. getty Two celebrations this fall provide a unique opportunity to learn about Pratham, an organization that is extraordinary at learning and has much to teach the world. “An Evening of Reflection and Hope,” a virtual celebration and benefit on October 28, features a conversation among Pratham CEO Dr. Washington Post columnist Nobel Laureate Abhijit Banerjee at the 25th anniversary celebration of Pratham on January 11, 2020, ... [+] in Mumbai, India. Hindustan Times via Getty Images The dual celebrations of the benefit and the Yidan Prize have prompted me to reflect on the remarkable path Pratham has taken since its founding in 1995—and the privilege I have had to follow its progress over many of these years. Pratham received its first international award— the Henry R. Kravis Prize in Nonprofit Leadership— in 2010 and I had the privilege of overseeing the selection process. Since then, the prizes and international awards have been coming nearly every year as Pratham continues to set the standard as an exemplary nonprofit whose best practices merit not only recognition but, most importantly, replication by others. Pratham’s interventions are high-quality, low-cost, and replicable, implemented in close collaboration with government, local communities, parents, teachers, volunteers, and civil society organizations. They are innovative and they are measurable; indeed, Pratham has an internal Measurement, Monitoring, and Evaluation (MM...
