Sam Bahadur Teaser: Vicky Kaushal has released the first teaser of his upcoming film Sam Bahadur. Set to release on December 1, 2023, the actor took to Instagram and shared the teaser, and kicked off the countdown for the release. For the unversed, Sam Bahadur is the biopic of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. In the teaser, Vicky is seen wearing the uniform and walking through his troupe as they make way for his exit. Vicky looked powerful during the walk despite his face not being visible on camera. Sharing the video, Vicky wrote, “365 days to go… #Samबहादुर in cinemas 1.12.2023." Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. His career in the army spanned over four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh. The legendary role will be played by Vicky Kaushal in the film. Apart from Vicky Kaushal, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh (as Indra Gandhi), Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick (as Lord Mountbatten), Richard Bhakti Klein (as Ambassador Keating), Saqib Ayub (Captain Attiqur Rahman) and Krishna Kant Singh Bundela (as Subedar Gurbaksh Singh). In the video, Kaushal can be seen dressed in the Indian Army’s uniform as he walks midst the army personnel, who clear the path for him. However, his face isn't revealed in the first teaser. Sharing the clip on his official Instagram handle, Vicky wrote, "365 days to go... #SamBahadurin cinemas 1.12.2023."

Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and his career in the Indian Army over four decades and multiple wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, apart from Vicky, Earlier in October, Vicky had shared pictures from the film’s shooting in an outdoor location after the team completed a schedule. “With that, we close the first outdoor schedule of Sam Bahadur," director Meghna had said in the video, while Vicky had said, “It’s a schedule wrap.” Earlier this year, as he has started preparing for the biopic, Vicky had met Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw's grandson Jehan. Sam Bahadur is based on the life and times of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, one of India's greatest war heroes. Starring Vicky Kaushal in the title role, the movie is produced by RSVP Movies. 365 days to go… The release date announcement video posted by the makers shows Vicky as Manekshaw, walking with his back towards the camera, as his troops make way for him. The film, which marks the second collaboration between Meghna and Vicky after 2018's Raazi, went on floors in August. It also stars Sanya Malhotra as Manekshaw's wife Silloo and Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Bhavani Iyer has penned the script of along with Meghna's father Gulzar and Shantanu Srivastava. Gulzar also serves as a lyricist on the movie with music by the popular trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
