जिले के बारे में भीम नगर सम्भल उत्तर प्रदेश के नए बनाए गए जिलों में से एक है। जिसके निर्माण की घोषणा २८ सितंबर २०११ को की गई। इस नव-सिर्जित जिले का मुख्यालय पवांसा मे बनाया जाएगा। २३ जुलाई २०१२ को जनपद का नाम भीमनगर से बदलकर सम्भल कर दिया गया |सम्भल जनपद में ३ तहसीलें सम्भल चन्दौसी और गुन्नौर हैं | जनपद में वहुसंख्यक जाति यादव है , जनपद में ३ नगर पालिका परिषद और ५ नगर पंचायत है , जनपद में ४ विधान सभा क्षेत्र सम्भल , असमौली ,चन्दौसी और गुन्नौर आते हैं।
