Box Office Trends: Salman Khan shows his muscle power on Eid with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan; Big gains

After a slow start in the vicinity of Rs 13.50 to 14.00 crore, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is showing big gains in collections across on board on Saturday. The occupancies have gone up in both – multiplexes and single screens – on occasion of Eid, and the trends so far indicate a good day for the Salman Khan film. As of 3 pm, the national chains have gone up by about 60 percent on Saturday and if the momentum continues, the final tally could hit the Rs 10 crore mark in the three chains on day 2. On Friday, the national chains total at 3 pm was Rs 3.22 crore, and the same has gone to Rs 5.15 crore on Saturday at 3 pm. It would be great if the chains can double up from 3 pm till the end of day, though these figures for both days also include advances for evening and night shows. The mass belts, which were hit by Ramazan on day one are showing extraordinary growth and driving the business of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The jump percentage in select single screens range from 200% to 400%, at places even more, as the muslim audience for Eid has come out in big numbers on Saturday. The noon show at Prem (Farbesganj) collected Rs 4524 on Friday, and the same show on Saturday as clocked Rs 31,234. Sanjay Cineplex in Motihari has collected Rs 1,01,160 from noon and matinee show on Saturday as compared to a full day – 5 show total of Rs 47974 on Friday. Sangam in Bhopal collected Rs 5990 on Friday for the 12 noon show and the same has jumped to Rs 24081 on Saturday. Bharat in Bhopal sc...

Recently, the actress opened up on the chances of a sequel to Dahaad, and went on to say how she'd love to be a part of it and play the character again. However, she added how it is a question that must be asked to the creators Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar. The actress also went on to say that even if the sequel is made, she will be missed being called 'Bhati saab' as she becomes Anjali Meghwal by the end of it. Talking to News18, Sonakshi opens up on being directed by the ace storyteller and revealed that the show is currently underway. As to when can we expect the series to go live, she said, “When you’ll be able to watch it is something you’ll have to ask Sanjay sir (laughs). But what I can tell you is that it has been such an amazing experience watching the genius in action, live in front of you, doing his magic.” She also shared her excitement further and mentioned how Sanjay sir brings out the best in all his actors and she feels privileged to be one of them. After the first look was unveiled in February, the response has been massive. Highlighting the same, she said, “The response to my look has been tremendous. It was a short, fleeting glimpse but people reacted to it in such a positive and wonderful way. It has been very overwhelming for me. The way Sanjay sir projects his heroines and characters is beautiful. Only he can do it.”

Sanjay Kapoor reflects on failed bid for stardom, says he was immediately compared to ‘super

• • • • Sanjay Kapoor reflects on failed bid for stardom, says he was immediately compared to 'super-duper star' brother Anil Kapoor Sanjay Kapoor reflects on failed bid for stardom, says he was immediately compared to ‘super-duper star’ brother Anil Kapoor Sanjay Kapoor recalled being compared to his already established actor-brother Anil Kapoor, which he felt was unfair, but expected. Sanjay Kapoor made his acting debut with Satish Kaushik’s 1995 film Prem, which didn’t do well at the box office, but soon after, the success of his second film Raja signalled the actor’s grand arrival in Bollywood. The younger brother of superstar By the time Sanjay delivered Raja, Anil was already a decade old in the film industry, and had established himself as one of the leading heroes of Hindi cinema. Sanjay, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, said that he was always aware that the brothers would be compared to each other, regardless of the fact that Anil was more experienced than him. Also Read | “There are pros and cons of the family being in the limelight, your expectations are 10 times higher. My first film was being compared to Anil’s last film. So when my career started, Anil was a super-duper star. He was the person who had given Mr India, Tezaab, Ram Lakhan… So, obviously the comparison was there. I knew it would happen, obviously they would compare me with him and not some other actor. We are brothers, and we will be compared,” said Sanjay, who will soon be seen in Bloody...

Sanjay Kapoor Says He Tried His Best To Steer Clear From 'Crappy Roles' Bloody Daddy Negative Role Sanjay Kapoor Shahid Kapoor Jio Cinema

New Delhi: Not the lack of offers, but the dearth of substantial roles made Sanjay Kapoor take a step back from his career as a hero, says the actor, who is now happy to have found his groove with performance-oriented characters. Sanjay started his acting career with 'Prem', which began filming in 1989 but released in 1995. He followed it up with popular titles such as 'Raja', 'Auzaar' and 'Sirf Tum', before he decided to wait for "correct projects". "It is important to be patient. I am not saying a miracle happens, but if you are sincere and hard-working you will get those opportunities. That’s what happened to me, I am a living example of it.... You have to be ready when your time comes," he told PTI. "As an actor, I did not do something that I will not be proud of to be associated with. Hits and flops are not in your hand, but to be part of the correct project is in your hands, and that’s what I did." In the 2000s, the 57-year-old shifted towards character roles, starring in 'Darna Mana Hai', 'LOC Kargil', 'Luck By Chance', 'Lust Stories', series 'The Fame Game' and 'The Gone Game', among others. Sanjay said he tried his best to steer clear from "crappy roles" as "once you get into it, then it becomes impossible to come back." Close to two decades after his debut as a hero, the actor said he has finally reached a stage where he can avoid being repetitive. "With every role, there is something new that I am giving as an actor. It is not repetitive. For instance, ‘The Fame...
