Aurangabad climate: weather by month, temperature, rain

Climate chart - Aurangabad The climate of Aurangabad (formerly Khadki) is tropical, with a rainy season from June to October, due to the monsoon, and a dry season from November to May. The rains usually end in early or mid-October. The city is located in south-central India, in the state of Maharashtra, at almost 20 degrees north latitude and 580 meters (1,900 feet) above sea level. Due to the distance from the sea, the rains are not abundant, moreover, the dry season is long, so the landscape is semi-arid. Before the monsoon the temperature rises, and from April to early June, on the hottest days, it can reach 43/44 °C (109/111 °F). On the other hand, owing to the altitude, nights are cool from November to March, and can sometimes be even a bit cold when air masses come from the north. In January 2003 and December 2018, the temperature dropped to 5.8 °C (42.4 °F). Aurangabad is in the path of tropical cyclones. Typically, cyclones occur from April to December, with two intensity peaks before and after the monsoon (from late April to early June and in October-November). Since we are far from the coast, the city is not hit by cyclones at full strength, however, they can bring heavy rainfall. Best Time The best time to visit Aurangabad is from November to January, being the least hot within the dry season. By February, the temperature begins to rise, and in some years it can get very hot already in this month. Aurangabad - Climate data The average temperature of the coldest ...

Weather Satellite Images: Maharashtra

Weather Satellite Images: Maharashtra Weather satellite images ( Maharashtra) show the cloud cover. New satellite observations become available every 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the location. The images can be animated to produce a minute-by-minute satellite view of the weather. The satellite animation is a great tool to understand weather development and movement of clouds, and is often used by meteorologists for short term weather forecasting. The global satellite composite is generated from 5 different satellites (METEOSAT, GOES-16, GOES-17, HIMAWARI, METEOSAT-IODC) and processed into an Earth-colour image for better readability. The global satellite image has the maximum possible resolution as provided by the satellites, yielding an incredible 500 megapixels for the entire world. Why are there some clouds missing at night? During daytime the satellite can take high resolution photos of the weather using the wavelengths of visible light. But unlike your digital camera, the satellite can also take pictures at night, using infrared radiation. This thermal infrared measures the temperature of objects, and cold objects appear in a bright white. Therefore, cold clouds appear very bright while warm clouds are less visible. Low clouds, and especially fog, do sometimes have similar temperatures as the Earth’s surface and then become almost invisible to the satellite at night. As the infrared signal is much weaker than visible light, the resolution of satellite images is much ...
